Prob covered but wanted to get the latest opinions. I have the 1 piece from MSA, got the permatex black. I understand that the rubber and metal should be cleaned, rubbing alcohol to get release agent off rubber and metal good and clean. the plan is to apply thin stripe of Permatex to metal and flange of rubber, none in the groove. Let dry, then another thin strip to metal over now dry adhesive and immediately stick down the flange. At least that the way the instruction detail how to use. This make a contact cement like bond. I tried dry fitting and can see it will be hard to work around the hatch hinges. I really don't want to have to remove the hatch. I w…

I am beginning to formulate the battle plan for replacing the floor pans and front frame rails on the project car. It looks like there are a few good options available for purchasing new pieces. Other small areas that should be replaced I am pretty confident I can fabricate some repair pieces with 20 gauge sheet metal. The spare tire compartment is in real poor shape. I do not have any confidence of fabricating that part. I have looked at a few trunk sections from some newer vehicles and have come very close with the same dimensions as the original. Recently noticed the Paint shop that charged me US$4,750 for restoring my car did not aligned the rear fenders with the doors. They are arguing that they were aligned before installing the doors seals. I have a 6 month guarantee on the job done but unfortunately the owner of the shop died two weeks after my car was delivered and now they do not want to answer phone calls and honor the guarantee. In this sense, i will proceed legally against them and ask them to appear for a citation at the consumers protection board. Can you show me the best zg flares in the market pls? There are alot and most of them are crap,i want flares easy to install and look correct and fit, also i don't know the correct size of the flares,there are alot of sizes ,i want the same size that come from the factory on the original ZG cars, thx

I mirrored an S30 photo to see what full symmetry in the design would be like. The proximity of the hand brake looks a tad too close to be comfortable. The ciggy lighter and volume control would also be too close. The hot exhaust on the drivers side and transmission tunnel is not favourable. Sitting directly behind triple carbs with the window down is nice. Having lived in Ireland, and being right handed, I do find that driving on the right is more ergonomic and natural in the cabin, plus it aligns with how ships and planes pass.

I've read a number of threads about how people collapse their later model bumper shocks before installing 240 bumpers on their 260s and 280's, but I have a slightly different question... I would like to know what it looks like if I were to move my 280 bumpers closer to the body, but I'm not yet ready to throw in the towel completely on my original bumpers. So anyone got any pics of a 280 where they've collapsed the shocks but are still running the original bumpers?

This has probably been asked before, but I've gone back to 2013 on this forum and haven't found it , so here goes. I'm trying to install the front-to-rear rubber seals that attach to the welded seam between the upper and lower front fenders of my '71 240Z. I'm told they go thick-side down, and curve outward . So far so good. What I'm unsure of is whether they attach on the inboard or outboard side of the welded seam. Also, the rubber seals (new) I have are a bit shorter than the length of welded seam available to them - do I set them to the front or the back of the seam? Or does it matter? Second question is with respect to the battery tie-down. The nearest…

Is there any weather stripping in the engine bay of the S30 besides the strip on the cowl that the hood sits on? It seems that water can drip down in/around the inspection hatches a bit. (this may have been because my hood wasn't latched down (latch is not installed currently) This was during a car wash, but I tried to be more careful around the hatches because I was afraid it might drip down a bit. Not sure where I should reasonably expect water to make its way into in/around the hood/engine bay area. Thanks

Hey gang, I have some great news to share. A new "Spray Chrome" business opened up in (near) Calgary this year, and is only one of two in Canada at the moment. There are likely others in the US. A little googling might reveal one near you. The cost of setting up this business is a bit steep, and the expertise and process puts it a bit out of the realm of the do-it-yourselfer.
