Just received a call from the paint shop asking me for new floor pans and rolling boards. Who sells high quality and thick metal gauge floor pans and rolling boards? Are MSA Quality reliable?

ZKarz sent me some windscreen wiper arms, but I need some blades for them. "240Z" blades are very expensive, so is there a compatible make &model of automobile that I can use as a reference? Universal wiper blades don't seem to look right, because they are black, and the old stuff looked like stainless steel, correct? Has anyone tried the frame-less blades, like the beam blades?

Wow, a name from the past I hear some of you say! Yes it's been while and still working on the zed. I have managed to lose one of the rear embellisher mounting clips and need one to complete the rear reassembly. If you have one spare, please PM me your email address. There are four clips which mount onto tabs which are welded onto the rear panel. The clips secure into the tabs with their own spring action. The rear tail light surrounds locate into these clips then with the top section slipping neatly over the hatch threshold which is then secured my those horrid plastic rivets (yes the ones that the centre plastic pins that are impossible to find once removed). …

]I'm interested to find information about the Series 1 Bumper "Override" Bar. To describe it, it is a chromed tube, strategically bent, that connects to the rear bumper of a Series 1 Z. I'd like to know a few things like: 1) Is it factory or dealer option? 2) Which year cars did it come on? 3) Is there such thing as an "override" bar for the front bumper" 4) Like it? or Leave it? Does anybody have detailed pics and measurements for fitting an override bar onto a rear bumper. I appreciate any/all help. Thanks! The picture shows the override bar on the classic oldschool Z (that's the one in front )

Hi all, I have a few questions regarding these mirrors: They're aluminum-body, bullet-type mirrors from a fellow forum member's 240z that he's parting out. Aside from needing fresh paint, they're in great shape and the adjusting ball is still plenty tight. First, are these OEM mirrors, or perhaps a factory aftermarket option? They are definitely a right/left pair with different mirror angles and seem to be pretty good quality. Second, as the picture shows, only one mirror had a bracket holding it to the door - the driver-side one was screwed directly to the sheet metal with what look like plastic drywall anchors. Assuming the brackets are the proper mode of ins…

The picture shows the driver-side window glass assembly taken from a long-gone 72 Z. If you look at the bottom-right quadrant of the assembly, you'll observe a stamped-metal piece bolted onto the near side of the glass. It looks kind of like a swimming duck (ok, maybe a loon), with the beak pointing to the right. With the glass installed in the door, this piece would be on the outboard side of the glass. Question: What is the purpose of this stamped-metal piece? It doesn't show in the parts fiche drawing and I don't see in the FSM drawings either. In addition, the side glass from the 70 Z that I'm working on doesn't have this piece either. The 72 donor from wh…

So the 71 I'm worling on finally made it to the body shop. Now I can work on other projects. It had been previously painted with who knows what kind of industrial flat white. The shop is stripping it. I know it had "some" hail damage, but look what showed up after stripping. Holy chicken pocks batman! Maybe I just go with the cheetah theme.... Kudo's so far to the new body shop I'm trying this time around. Wally and the gang at AutoComplete Calgary. If this job goes as promised I agreed to spread to word to others in the area. Here is their first installment. They are also doing a bit of rust repair for me, the two dog legs and…

I'm looking to paint my 280Z, and the original paint color was a very light blue. I would like something darker and something a 240Z would have been painted. I found this 240Z-L that was featured in Petrolicious, and would like to confirm the color code. The blog link: http://s30zed.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-02-19T12:11:00-08:00&max-results=6&reverse-paginate=true&start=6&by-date=false It appears it was produced in October 1971 which would likely be a color code 115, but cannot tell for sure. The third photo shows a 1970 240Z which looks very similar (903 code), and the 240Z-L next to each other. Can someone help me confirm the co…

This is the rear shock tower brace I made for my Z, I'm now making up a bunch of other sets for guys in my local Z club and started wondering if there might be an advantage to fixing the bottom of the diagonal brace to one side over the other. Can anyone see an advantage one way or the other? Thanks, Chris

Hello, I just picked up a 71 240Z series I with all matching numbers. The only thing not matching is the color. I have not decided what color I am going with because the red that was sprayed in the engine compartment area is still pretty good. I'm planning on using OR-15 to coat the bottom of the chassis and interior floors. Probably going to do the engine bay as well. Believe it or not, there's absolutely no rust holes or spots in the engine compartment but coating it prevents future rots if any develops. So my question is this......from a collectors point of view, is it better to match the body color or should I black it out with the rust preventive coating t…
