Hi all - I've looked on motorsport auto, and they have the panel, but I'd be a fool if I didn't ask here too. It is that top plate that sits above the taillights, the latch goes through it. Mine is roached. Thanks all! Curtis

just received a box of shiny goodies from mike at vintage chrome - my hood vents are now beautiful!! these vents were painted by the PO and while in good shape, they were far from perfect. mike had them cleaned up and plated and now they look like jewelry. very satisfied with what he's been able to do for a very reasonable price. not only is the finish flawless, they got the polish to a level that actually provides accurate reflections - photos don't do it justice, i'm impressed. hope to get them installed this afternoon and will post more pics. highly recommend these guys for making z parts shine!

Hey gang, as the title says i'm in need of 1 one rear bumper bracket for a 1970 240z. Send me a line if you have one you want to part with at a reasonable price. Our's was missing when we purchased our project car. Checked ebay and nothing is available there except the incorrect SS version. Thanks!!

I was looking for repair panels and found these guys. The 240Z stuff is on sale with free shipping. Prices are about half of what I've seen elsewhere. The free shipping says January special, but they are still doing it. Has anybody used these panels? Are they the same as Tabco? They don't carry the outside wheel arch. Does anybody have one they want to part with? Right side. Otherwise MSA and Tabco have them for about the same price.

Hey all, I bought black dragon's weatherstrip kit recently. Everything seems to be fitting about as well as I had hoped, but I've come across an issue with the upper outside hatch seal (the type that's broken into three parts). The top section is supposed to look sort of like this: Instead, it looks like this: Which I think means that it isn't going to sit as well, or be as effective. I'm considering dropping a couple bones on MSA's "Rear Deck Outer Weatherstrip, One Piece Top & Sides", but I'm not sure that it is something I should worry about, or maybe I should stick with the three piece system and simply get a better top third section from another source, li…

On the 280Z, there are those vents below the dash in the corner by the door. Where does the air come from, that you will feel blowing on your foot? I've looked at the chassis with the fender off, but I don't see any channels going back to the area of the vent. If you pushed a snake through there, should it come out somewhere?

Does anyone have some good photos of the drains for the 280Z hatch deck, with the tail lamps removed? They are in the outer corners of the flat panel across the tailgate. Rainwater drains through a small sort of trough (AFAICT) in the corners behind the tail lamps in a similar way as the front vent plenum. Mine have some rust or the PO tried to 'correct' things. I'd like to correct it the right way. Maybe there's even an improved way to let the water drain?

I've worked with folks at PaintScratch.com and they have just added 920 Safari Gold to their available products. It is listed as a 1971 Nissan 240Z color. FYI - the actual product formula is PPG 23576. Edit: I recommended they also list it for the '70 model. http://www.paintscratch.com/

Has anyone restored a rusted hatch down-stopper? It's the part on the side with the spring-loaded wedge-shaped plastic part. I can probably clean/polish the metal and give it a plating of shiny tin-chrome, but you have to get the plastic part and spring out first. I suppose you could bend the two sides apart to get the plastic out, and the spring would come out with it, but you''ll never get the metal back to what it was originally. Is there a better way?

Does anyone have one of those Autobahn mirrors on any vehicle? I have a little bubble mirror on the driver's side, but it still leaves a small blind spot. It most likely helps to see into the blind spots on the side, but it still seems to be getting tougher to drive safely lately with all the vehicles out there and higher speed limits on the highways.

I was doing some Googling on English wheels and came across this. I would love to fabricate some metal fender flares like this. I like the original shape of the quarters but I would like to see them exaggerated more to give more overall flare. I don't like the shape of many of the aftermarket fiberglass flares. They seem to conflict with the original lines. These videos show what I'm talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=491K3bqJ_9M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8K7RLT6BJY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Od9QeWsor6E Enjoy. Really cool what you can turn a flat piece of 20 gauge into... Charles

Has anyone ever tried sacrificial anodes attached to the inside or outside of the frame rails to ward off rust? They could be made of zinc, magnesium or aluminum. In the shipyards they use zinc ingots cast with steel straps that weld onto the hull. They had to be replaced every few years due to the effects of salt water corrosion but on a car they should last a long time. Also, any thoughts about the use of cold galvanizing spray as a bare metal primer? My 74 S30 project will be going up on stands soon so I can finish opening my holiday present, Then I'll find out whether I got gold or a lump of coal. I've tried many rust treatment products over the years with dissapoint…
