Hi, Sorry about the topics title, but I am not sure what the item, I want remove is called I am removing bits and pieces from my frame, so it can be cleaned out and painted in the spring, but I stopped at this item: I would like to call it a hatch hinge insert - but anyway it seemed sealed and thing that should be removed. Is it possible to remove with out to much damage? And if yes, any tips on removing it? Thanks, Martin * Edit: Ok, so they where that much glued to the frame, that I got frustated and asked about removing them in here, sorry about that! I took a deep breath and went back into the garage and heated them lightly and tapped them out. …

I apologize if this is a little dumb. How do the L shaped brackets for the front bumper go on a 240z? Do they mount facing each other or away from each other (hopefully that makes sense)? I'm asking because I cannot get the ends of my front bumper to not contact the body of my car. Thanks for the help. Cheers, Scot

I'm getting my front and rear spoilers painted black on my orange 240. I like a low sheen finish but the painter called and said after he got started on them they were originally done with black gel coat. Could someone who wasn't in diapers in 1972 tell me the sheen as they remember? Gloss, semi-gloss or a satin finish? Thanks for any help, Cliff

I just noticed that the side bumper bracket on my front bumper (early 240Z style) is broken (see pic below, note that bracket is turned ~45 degrees to support the bumper). I have done no welding so I'm asking one of you with welding experience, if it would be possible to have someone re-weld the bracket on to the bumper, without damaging the chrome finish on the outside of the bumper?

Hi all - I've checked MSA and Zedd, and don't see an option to just get one side. I haven't called either place, but no option online. Does anyone have one they wouldn't mind selling (or even donating)? I am that close to being on the road with this thing....

I have a nice shiny new cad plated gas cap with a new chain and a new piece of rubber protect-o flap thingy on my Z. IT looks just beautiful. Very OEM. However It does have one little drawback. During track days, on most left turns, if my tank is even somewhat full, I have a stream of gas that pours down the side of my right rear quarter fender. This mixed with dust, dirt, and tire debris are quite a unsightly and it stinks. So if I decide to go crazy, is there an modern aftermarket gas cap that would keep the gas in the filler neck better than the OEM one. Perhaps my replacement cap (from motorsport) is just not quite up to OEM standards. Any comments or recommend…

Talked to Dave Patten at futofab.com, he said the black powder coated bumpers were a satin finish. Perfect!!! Can hardly wait to receive them and will post up pictures as soon as I can. $543 for both front and rear to Alabama.

We have now selection of NOS nuts and bolts directly imported from Japan. These are not cad-plated nor yellow zinc. All the hardware that originally came with 240Z cars were chromate-finish. The highest grade Chromate finished hardware is very hard to come even in Japan. So far we have: -Inspection lid clip screw set (Almost Impossible to find the original ones in US) -Strut tower nuts and lock washers -Rear hatch + screws with special locking washers -M6 bolt kit to cover most areas. -Luggage strap screws and storage lid screws -Door lach and dove tail screws and special locking washers If you have any other recommendation, we will import them directly from…

I have corrosion under the door kick and scuff plate areas on a car I'm preserving. Recently I've been reading articles on metal bonding vs welding and was wondering if anyone has tried fabing up a sheet metal piece to fit under the kick plate and use a structural bonding adhesive as opposed to welding it to the top of the door sill. In my case the rocker panels look good inside and out as the result of being rust proofed when new. The rust appears to be a top down problem at the pinch weld and under the door weather seal/kick/scuff plates only.
