I paid a 71 year young man to polish this 42 year old paint. It's not perfect by any stretch of that word but WOW! Slick as a button and I won't have to get it painted for many years. He said it was like "cutting a new paint job". He tried to buy my car but settled on $250, lucky for me. Look how close it came to where the hood emblem has been.

I'm wondering if someone can post a picture of the rear quarter on a 240z so I can see the proper contour of the panel from rear to front along the body line that runs just above the flare. Maybe using a straight edge so I can see how much the panel bows as it goes past the wheel arch. A previous repair lapped a new rear arch panel and it doesn't have the body line so I cut the lap out for butt welding but I'm not sure how straight the panel is suppose to be. Mine currently bows about a 1/2 inch in the middle which seems odd since I've seen some Z's with a trim piece along that body line which I would think would look weird with that much bow. Allen

Several months a go I contacted BRE by email to see if they had a spook for the 240z around (don't know unless you ask). Well I got an email back that evening that they took a tour of the original factory that produced the spooks and spoilers the day before well I have been in louse contact ever since. This morning I got the email that they have them and needed my address to calculate shipping since they have not done that yet. They are being made in the original molds. The price is very fair to me, and thought a lot of you might be interested. http://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_Code=bredatsunparts

I've been e-mailing with John Washington at Reaction Research and he's going to make my bumpers for me for a good price. I'll be sure and let everyone know how things turn out. Reaction Research Automotive

Anyone have any suggestions? Got word yesterday from Motorsports that their supplier isn't making them anymore.... Thanks

I have done some minor rock chip repair, sanding, POR15 on the front lower valance and bottom of the fenders. My car is 110 red, which is really persimmon - orange, does anyone have experience with the color match from automotivetouchup.com? For 1977, they do not show 110, but they do for the 72 & 73 240. I suppose I could call them. 9

GVWR for my early 260z (with Factory a/c is listed at 3010lbs - figure ~ 2700lbs curb). I would like to get her a little lighter. I will start with the low hanging fruit - a/c is in-effective so I'm going to start with removing that. I figure the compressor alone must weigh ~ 30lbs ! any other suggestions ?

I've been trying to find out what the seal/rubber for the window in the picture is called, maybe it is a part of the regular weatherstrip kit but what is it called? Can someone help me with the correct name for this seal? Also need the same seal for the quarter windows.

Hi I am considering painting my car among other colours 918 Orange, I can't see a car in the UK to have a look at the finished colour, does anyone have any pics they could show me of one here? I have seen some but the wonderfull Californian sun on the car makes it hard to see the real shade, Thanks, Phil.

I actually have a pair of NOS bumper guard strips for my 240z. However I am hesitant to use them since the last pair that sold on Ebay went for $250 and the left side has been NLA from Nissan for sometime. Since I have a mint pair I would like to use them as a pattern to make some more. Has anyone ever done this? From a concept stand point I think I would need two layers of rubber and either find or flatten the heads of some small bolts and sandwich the bolt heads in between the rubber strips. If anyone has any experience trying this I would love to hear about it. Thanks!

Hey fellas. Has anybody of you guys tried to use a car wash (the tunel type) with a bolted on aluminum window louver on his Zcar? Do they last or will they get damaged? Greetings from the other side of the big water.

After 3 years away from my project due to kids going to college and family obligations, I got back to my 78 280z the only thing I have done so far welded floors and remove gas tank and had it open boil and clean out and they also fix a dent on the tank. I wasn't totally away from my project but getting electricity to my barn and lights while not working on my car was important. Also found 2 front fenders in a junk yard (you pull the parts yourself) for $100 they where and alot better shape than mine. So my plans are to start working on the body and get it done before the snow flies. Here are some pictures..... Any advice is welcome.. .......Juan....
