I attempted this just before winter, but wound up slightly cracking the black panel. It was as if it wouldn't budge at all. Are these known to be difficult to remove, or did I simply forget to take something more apart?

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but I figured since it's a huge amount of body/paint work, it'll do. Mods, feel free to move it if it's not! I can't believe it's been 6 months since I purchased this car! I figured I'd be done so much sooner... However, it turned out to be in worse shape than I originally thought, and I got hung up on a few things so far. Oh well, at least I'm making some progress. If anyone is interested, I can keep adding pics to this thread. I started cleaning the interior out, and it was nasty: I removed all of the crappy wiring that someone had done: Tore out all of the wet, rotten carpet (the previous owner was parking …

Hello, I recently purchased a urethane bumper. The inlet part is very wavy, I was wondering if anyone knew any way to straighten it out. Thanks, Han

Hi everyone; Got an early 74 260z with a cracked windshield. A local glass specialist will install a new windshield for me at a reasonable price (don't wanna do it myself), but he cannot find or order the actual windshield. He says it's not even listed in his book. Where can I find a windshield for this car? Will a 73 240z windshield fit? I want it to look and fit properly. I've got the guy ready to install it... now all I need is to find the right windshield at a decent price. Any help, parts sources or advice would be appreciated. Starting from scratch here. Thank you!

Hi all; The nose of my '74 260z *racecar* has been altered from stock. A different front air dam/valance has been installed and is so low to the ground that I can barely load the car onto a trailer to get to a race. Aerodynamics are not that critical since our speeds are less than 130 mph, so I'd like to make the car appear as stock as possible by restoring the nose to something resembling a stock configuration. The more factory appearance I can get, the better I'll like it. Important note - the headlight openings and the fog lamp openings are now used for brake ducts and must remain. They're vital to the car's performance. Can anyone recommend stock-appearing parts …

My Z is now out of paint and awaiting some finish fine tuning - and time to address another problem <g>. The previous owner decided to fill in the emblem mounting holes on both fenders + the hatch - does anyone have the schematic (for lack of better terminology) on _where_ the emblem holes were originally located on the fenders/hatch so I get the placement correct the first time + what is the diameter of the mounting holes for the fender/hatch emblems?

Hi all, I cut an 8X12 inch piece of sheet metal out of a parts car using an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and a jigsaw for a couple of small spots where the angle grinder couldn't reach. The resulting edge where both machines cut is irregular, how can the edge be made straighter or cut straighter in the first place so it looks nice? I could use a long hand file for the finished edge but I am hoping there is a better way. Mike

Hello, Just finished shooting my car with some satin green paint. However, the paint looks really uneven. It's all good to the touch but you can clearly see where I started and stopped. My question is, how do I even all of this out? After my first coat I tried sanding with 600grit, but It ended up making the paint look bad. I was thinking of trying 1000 or 1500 grit, but I wanted to check in before I did that. I will be shooting the car with a flat clearcoat, so it that takes care of these problems I'll just do that instead of sanding. Hoping someone can give me some tips.

The nose on the z car is very long and im thinking alot of difficult door closure issues are related to flexing and misalignment of the front frame structure. So perhaps if you're having door closure issues, you might want to do a little measuring of your front end for squareness and look at how the front sheetmental fits. In this video the frame was out 5 mil's and it affected how the door closed significantly.

Passenger side hood hinge - when the hood is shut if I grab the front of the passenger side hood near the headlight bucket I can wiggle it up & down probably 2" - the driver's side has absolutely zero 'vertical slop' whatsoever. Any idea if this is an adjustment issue (and where do I start) or is this refurbished hood hinge shot and it's time to scrounge up a new hinge? I thank you in advance for reading/replying!
