Part #66310-E4600 is where the air intake for the HVAC fan is located. The fan is bolted to the underside of this cowl over the intake opening. This intake is a sheetmetal rounded rectangular duct with a flange that is welded to the cowl. I have rust around the flange of this intake that is allowing water to leak onto the passenger floor area. This intake is covered by a shroud on the Cowl - Top outer (66300-E4600) that keeps rain from entering this intake. It appears to me the only way to access this intake from the top of the cowl, is to cut out the shroud so that the rust hole can be treated and sealed. Has anyone else had rust issue here? If so, how did you attack thi…

So i'm replacing the rusted out areas on my Z and there are certain areas that are pitted, but not rusted through. The metal is still pretty solid so my question is this. Do I need to remove all pitted metal? or could I get away with only replacing the rotted areas and then spraying the pitted area with a product like POR15, then primer, and some body filler then paint? The entire car has been sandblasted so the pitted areas aren't rusted anymore.

Hello Guys, I have recently been contacted with an opportunity to purchase a set of after market rear quarter panels, that extend from the door to the taillights. I am restoring a '71 240Z and already have a pair of Tabco repair panels for the outer wheel arches. However, after much deliberation I've decided it would be easier to repair all of the rust with a full quarter panel. There is rust damage in the taillight area and the back corners, along with some rust damage in the side bumper mounting area (bumper indent). According to the owner, the quarter panels came from a body shop in Omaha and after being tucked away, they were forgotten about for 20 years until th…

Sadly, a fellow 240Z owner mortally curled the hood on his daily driver 240Z in traffic. He's looking to get it repaired, but would prefer a metal hood over a reproduction composite hood. Please contact me know if you have a non-vented S30 hood you would consider selling and I'll let him know.

Hello All, I am finally getting ready to start painting. The only thing I can think of that I need is a front Valance panel. Motorsports has a 73 listed but my car is a 72. Does anybody know if the 73 is the same as a 72? I didn't think there was any difference up to 74 but just wanted to check before purchasing. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SBC1A02/30-7046 Thanks for all the help. Jeff

Well my project is completely stripped down and ready for media blasting. I got a quote from a company that was anywhere between $900 to $1700 depending on how long it takes. Is this reasonable? What have some of you guys paid for sand blasting? I would buy one and do it myself but I dont have the space and dont really want to deal with the mess.

I bought an unused Ferrari gto kit from what is thought to be the 80's. Looking to stick it on my 280. I am unclear as to how to handle the rear quarters. Does anyone know if you cut the quarters for just the pocket vent or do you skeleton out the whole thing. I hate to cut and experiment if someone out there already knows. Appreciate the help.
