Hey, What is the size of the bolts that hold the bumper brackets (the spacer between body and the bumper) on? The body shop is FINALLY making an effort to work on the car and I don't know if they have the bumper bolts. Are they 10mm or 8mm or something else???? Thanks. carl

I need to replace the weather strip molding along the outside of my side windows. Its stapled to the stainless steel trim. After I take the old ones off, what's the best way to attach the new ones? I'm not sure how I'd get staples back in the original holes and curled over on the inside. Is there a good all-weather adhesive I could use or does someone have another suggestion for attaching the new molding? Thanks Gary

I am looking for some mirrors simular to what MSA (attached pic) sells but made of metal. All I have found locally is made of plastic and feels cheap. If anyone could point me to a supplier or if you might have a pair for sale, that would be great. Thanks, Skip

I'm original owner of 1976 Datsun 280z and currently reconditioning. Does anyone know where I can get the hatch emblem-280z as well as a dashboard (black)?? I've tried a dash cover so no interest in one of those.

I have some old epoxy primer. I used some the other day. I wanted to test if it had cured properly. I wiped it down with some lacquer thinner and it started coming off. Should lacquer thinner cut cured epoxy primer? Charles

I have done some searchng and I remember reading some threads where the poster had used gloss black on the supension pieces with flattener added. I can't find those threads but I was wondering how much flattener they used. The gloss black Nason I have is flattened after being catalyzed and reduced. 1:1 reduced paint to flattener is 100% flat. I don't know how flat the suspension is supposed to be and wanted some advise from those who had done it. Thanks, Charles

Like many Z owners, I really ought to replace my floor pans.. I've noticed that Rock Auto sells "Classic to Current Fabrication" floor pans for $100 a side, so $200 for a pair. Here's their website. Rust Repair Panels | Auto Body Parts | Replacement Floor Pans Anyone have experience with these? Are the comparable to the $300 set from MSA, or is it better to spend the extra $100 (or extra $200 for the premium version)? I have a pretty small budget. Originality is somewhat a concern, but less so than functionality - In the case of a floor pan, especially.

I purchased a set of these from Banzai Motorworks for my '71 (see first picture below). I did a search here Classic Zcar Club, but could only find a picture of an old used one barely hanging on with the door weatherstrip pulled out (see 2nd picture and link to Bre-240Z's thread below). Does anyone have a picture showing a new one fully installed? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=242346&highlight=quarter+window#post242346

I am going to be purchasing a Zedd Findings set of rails and pans in the coming week or so. I am hoping someone on here has had a great experience with a local to middle TN company, that I can be referred to. I know the importance of this job being done well. I have had no experience with any shops around here. I have done everything "mechanically" speaking so far myself, but this is something I do not have the equipment to or faith to attack myself. I want this done right. Hopefully someone will be able to lead me to a good place. I am in Smyrna, TN. There is a shop around the corner called Tennessee Classic Automotive (tcacars.net). I do not know anything about …

Some sites say they are from early Z's, some say from late. I have a set that have Japanese symbols stamped in, but I have no idea how old they are. I am tying to sell them, because they are one of three sets I have.

66 Auto Color Just wanted to share the good luck I had with the single stage paint product I purchase from this company. I used the Max 2K with PPG 23576 Butterscotch. I was reasonably close to my exterior, and plenty suitable for the interior that will be covered with carpet. I used white Rust-oleum primer first.

I about have the Z ready to paint. The car color will be "Lemon Ice" which is a very bright yellow. I was going to paint the under side of the car black and the wheel wells black. I was also planning on blacking out behind the grill. My question is where do I paint yellow and where do I stop the yellow. Do I paint the whole front clip yellow and just black out the wheel wells and the radiator support? Do I paint the underside of the front rails black instead. What would you paint yellow on the inside? All of it? Some of it? None of it? I plan on using a lot of sound mat so I don't know what makes the most sense. Every thing will be epoxied primed to get started... Thanks,…
