I'm refurbishing my quarter glass windows on both sides. I have the new seals and the urethane sealer that you put on the surfaces. I cleaned up the stainless frames very well. My question is, what is attached to the forward edges next to the door? There appears to be either or both a corner piece around the forward bottom corner or and piece that attaches along the entire forward edge. Either way something black either paint or a piece of rubber appears to have exist along this edge at one time. I have a set of 72 quarter glass as well, and there is some thick residue of some kind along those edges. It looks like old rubber. It doesn't seem logical that Nissan left this…

Hey everyone. I recently got MSA's Classic Chrome Mirror set. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/50-1164 I was fully aware they didn't fit the stock mounts but was hopefully they'd fit the existing mounts for my current crummy plastic ones. And I liked them best for the price range. I pulled the old ones off, and it looks like the rear hole was about a half inch or so too far forward to be a simple swap. I'm very hesitant to drill extra holes in my door - especially ones more outward. Anyone have experience installing this mirror? Are there alternative methods to mount it? Automotive double stick tape? Or should I just suck it up and put a hole in her. Thanks, Alex

The body shop has had my car for 7 months today and still another month they say. The only thing that saved this car from the scrap pile was having an appraisal to show the value. The long story short was we were sitting at a red light for almost 45 seconds or better and we heard screaching tires and bam, he told the cop I only looked down for a second...I bet he was texting:finger:. The hardest part was trying to find a useable donor without any rust for parts and after a 3 month search a suitable donor was located thanks to our very own hls30.com, much appreciated . The pictures show the before and how it is today, another week and should be ready for some paint .

I need to replace the side marker lights and the LH front turn signal lens on my 240z. All of these parts are NLA from Nissan (checked yesterday). I'm interested in opinions on aftermarket lenses or marker assemblies that people have purchased. It's virtually impossible to determine the quality of these items until you have one in your hand, preferably with an OEM part to compare it to. Thanks, Dave IZCC#508

Hi all, I have some screw holes in my car, most I can blame on the PO but I did a few myself unintentionally. I tried soldering one of them closed but not sure I got a good seal. Is there an easy way to seal these holes off so I don't have to worry about water coming through? One of them is under the driver's feet, one is over the gas tank. Thanks for ideas. Mike

This is more of a trivia question, not dealing with a problem. The wiper arms on my car (original) have 55L and 55R stamped on the underside - nothing else. On the topside, right at the pivot is a very light stamp with "AE" in a half-moon shape. Another set of arms I have has multiple stampings on the underside, including 55L and 55R, plus "MADE IN JAPAN" with " NWB LIC. TRICO" under it.; nothing stamped on the topside The two sets of arms are identical in all other respects. So... does anyone have some insight into the background of what seems to be two different mfrs. of these arms? Are they from different generations of cars? Thanks for any contributions. Jim

I was just wondering if anyone knew what shade of black the fender mirrors need to be? I know its either Satin, Matte or Flat- a color without gloss but I am not 100% on the sheen it needs to be. I have a set that were media blasted and am looking to powder coat them soon. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hey guys, Im back with a few more pictures. I finished the floor pans, then took both door skins off and blasted the inner door shell followed by POR 15 and epoxy primmer. I got new door skins from Rare spares, they fit nice, but the metal was a little thicker than my original skins but no rust. I also installed my NOS hood ledge supports that I got from Courtesy Nissan.

I have a minute water leak in my cabin and had me puzzled for some time, it comes on and off making it hard to pin down its source....So by accident it was detected as I was washing her yesterday ..... found out it came from the right corner of the rubber seal on the windshield, water was sipping in between the glass and the seal and not from seal and body(lucky as this would create major damage). A minor repair is in order ,I will add a sealant and in hopes that this leak will vanished,,,,,,,,,,,any sugestions..... :bulb:

I've been looking at how to remove the aluminum trim on the doors that go around the windows when they roll up. After briefly inspecting I did not see an easy way to remove them. So I thought I would come on here and see if its worth it, or should I just leave them on. Any advice would be very appreciated.

Was reading this older thread about restoring the 240z Airbox: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread37440.html Went to the store to grab the Dupli-Color DE1620 Chevrolet Orange and next to it on the shelf was Dupli-Color DE1652: Chrysler Hemi Orange. On the shelf, DE1652 appeared to be a better match to the original Airbox color. This coming from someone who (a) didn't have his airbox in front of him, and ( has never seen a Clean, Original box. Mine has 40 years of grime on it. I had a spare in the garage that I accidentally ran over last year. Never threw it away, because situations like this come around which totally validate being a pack rat. Airbox: Suppli…
