When I get the Z stripped down to bare metal would there be any advantage to welding all the seams while they are exposed? I thought it might make the car a little stiffer, maybe squeak and rattle less or would I just be wasting time? Thanks, Chris

Yes, it's back to the paint shop. After leaving the paint shop for the auto shop, the car was place on a lift and examined. Guess what was discovered? All the surfaces that face the ground was not painted properly, some merely coved in overspray. Anyone car to guess why? That's right, the painter was too lazy to bend over to get the bottom surfaces. You would have to lay on the ground to look up under the car to see this screw up. Am I frustrated after waiting 3 years for this car to come out of the paint shop? You damn straight I am. :disappoin This is absolutely outrageous! I'm beginning to think I'll never get this car back.

Anybody have problems with Eastwood chassis black epoxy spray paint? I have 4 cans that leak around the nozzle and the nozzle wont spray properly. I cleaned them and they will work a few seconds then spray funny. Not impressed with the $14 per can price. I tried VHT epoxy paint with excellent results so far. My finished my rear suspension with eastwood and it turned out great but will have to repaint with VHT to match. Maybe their is a bad batch?

I am now the proud owner of a pre 73 front bumper but I need the mounting brackets. I have seen them and of course I think I could make some if I had the layout. Does any one have a drawing with dimensions that I could use. May be if I had a template on paper that I could use to get the bends right I could mark and drill the holes. The width of the bar i use will be dictated by the bumpers attachment point. Glen

Does anyone have any thoughts on what window visor / Vent shade might fit on a 1975 280Z? I have tried many search combinations in google , amazon, eBay . Nothing comes up other than "sorry we have no specific recommendations for your application at this time". I am lead to beleive that nobody has ever needed to drive their Z in the rain that was either not equipped with A/C or it wasn't working. I'm thinking there must be a car someplace that has acceptably similar window frame shape to facilitate a modification to suit. When it rains here in Grenada , it Really rains . My A/C currently does not work and no amount of defrost vent fan can sort it out sufficiently that I c…

For the Prep and ready it says to rinse it off with water. Do you know any clever ways to dry the water? I already have a heat gun. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if the door window frames are stainless steel or chrome? The magnet test was inconclusive as some of the lower grades of SS are still magnetic. My window frames are badly scuffed and scratched in places and if they are chrome then I'll just let the chromers deal with it but if SS then I can start some heavy buffing. Thanks, Chris

First post new member today. I,m sure this has been asked before. I'm restoring a 75 280z and have some areas that have to go to bare metal ( some rust, some rust through). Most of the body is in pretty good shape so just needs sanding. I'll probably go with the original orange for the final color . Do I used epoxy or regular primer?
