The very first car I ever owned was a gift from my parents...A 1972 240z ; White w Red and had Auto and AC. I have just acquired a 1972 with 78,000 mi from the original owner...it has Red interior with Auto and AC but is Silver Grey original paint. My feeling is I would love to paint it White to sort of have my first car. Good or bad idea ? Am I destroying the value ?

Hi all, I need some help identifying convenient holes for spraying the interior of the rear frame rails and cross members with anticorrosion spray. The attached drawing made from the chassis dimension drawing and measurements made on my 70 240Z shows two holes under the carpet in the back of the rear deck that may be of use. I also know that there are two large suspension bolts on the bottom of what I am calling the front crossmember on each side that potentially could be taken out temporarily. Are there other holes? I don't know if the one the gas tank J Bolt goes through on the passenger side frame rail is big enough for any useful spraying. Thanks for any …

I am in the process of stripping and parting out a 1973 240z. I have the fresh air vents out and looking at the rubber damper I see, after 40 years, that the rubber is cracked and disintegrating. Wondering if anyone has refurbished these and what was used as replacement rubber. The material is very thin and goes onto a backing plate.

DIY bumpers? 1 2

I have searched and been unable find out if anyone has made a set of bumpers. I know it sounds stupid but I was just curious if it could be done. I have a 4/73 240 and it does not have either bumper. I have seen the fiberglass ones and I would like to have a little protection so instead of trying to find a good original set I was thinking if making some customs might work. Any thoughts? And remember what my mother says "if you can't say anything nice... eat a sandwich" Glen

I'm working on my doors to fix a few issues and while I'm in there, I'm putting in Sportage weatherstripping. Couple of questions: 1) The chrome trim up around the top of the window (Nissan calls it the sash)... What hardware is supposed to be used behind the door panel to hold the sash in place? By that, I mean, is it supposed to be a bolt or a screw, and what does it look like? I'm not sure what I have in there is the right piece of hardware. Not the bolts in the door jambs that are visible while the door panel is in place... I'm talking about the ones that are not visible with the door panel in place. 2) Are there supposed to be any spacer between the sash and the insi…

Is there a difference between the '76 and the '77 280z front bumper mounts (shocks)? If so, can it be overcome?
