A while back my Z went back to the painter for a warranty redo. Well today, I finally got her back - just in time for a fine weekend of tinkering! I will be updating my album as I get her detailed back into fine shape! Here are some pics in the meantime...

What are people using for grommets over the access hole for the mustache bar mount bolts? I put some time googling and came up with this. Works okay though the rubber in the center is very thin. I couldn't remember if there was even a grommet there originally. This is the bolt it is covering....

I'm considering painting my 72 240Z a bright blue color, similar to a Viper Blue,...or the blue on the new Toyota FJ's. Has anyone done this,...and if so,..do you have pictures? I need to actually see one of our Z's painted this color before I do it.

The original owner of my '75 had the emblems shaved, ALL of them. I'm wanting to put them back on but he had all the holes either leaded or welded up (not body filler). Anybody know what bit size to use to re-drill the pin holes? I thought about cutting off the pins and using double sided tape but I want them to be absolutely stock Dave

Hey everyone, I have a crazy question...there's a welder in my area who thinks he can replace the front fenders, doors, and roof (along with A and B pillars) of my Z (as the frame is still fine) IF I can find a doner car/parts...I found a couple, but one is a 260 and the other a 280. Does anyone know if these parts would be compatible with a 1972 240Z? VERY curious (and thanks in advance), Adam

Can someone vouch for the quality, fit between the MSA,Black Dragon door Handles and a set of NOS ones for twice the price? If the non-NOS ones are going to clunk not fit well and chip easily then the extra cash sounds like a great idea but if they are basically similar I will go with the knockoffs. I am buying a NOS side mirror so I am not opposed to dropping the cash on quality but do not want to throw the cash away on a name...guess whats an extra $50n when you are this deep in already on a full restomod that started with just changing the quarter window seals...but that is a whole other story

hello all My DATSUN 240Z has the color yellow 112 (lime). The PPG Industries (USA) color is 82040. Does anyone know the color of the new formula adapted to new types of colors used today. Today's technology uses water colors. The formula for the color of a time with water colors of today is not good. Know the formula for the color 112, PPG, or from other manufacturers of colors? Does anyone know the new formula? Someone has recently painted the car with this color? Someone knows where to find information? Information to be found by those who produce, sell color? Information in some FORUM? Thank you for your help.

Afternoon everyone , I just finished building cowl drains for the Z . There was a thread from Enrique that I found and I followed his instructions and made what you see here . The pvc 90 degree was modified by cutting the one end shorter so it would fit into the rubber drain outlet easier and not bind while allowing the 90 to fit as close to the inner fender as possible . I found some woven tubing at 2$ per foot and and some gear clamps to go around the whole assembly and then secured the rubber drain with some electrical tape . To fit the pvc elbow into the tubing I warmed the hose with a heat gun and the elbow slid right in .When it cooled down the tubing kind of shrun…

So, I've been searching for a series 1 to start a project, and I ended up finding one thats relatively close by. Obviously, seeing as we're right in the middle of the rust belt, there are a few issues. The car is for sale for $2,000 obo, which for a series 1 with the work done to it seems pretty good, but this frame rail has me kind of wary of the purchase. Being wary tends to make me say no automatically to make sure I don't get in over my head. However, finding a series 1, let alone one thats in my price range AND less then 100 miles away is pretty awesome. This kind of makes me want to pull the trigger, but I figured I would get a second opinion from the lovely people …

Hey guys I recently bought all new rubber fillers for my 280 and I was trying to button everything up tonight now that my bumpers are back from chrome. The center filler piece in the rear is sitting quite a bit above the bumper and I can't get it to lay flat with the adjustments in it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve this? I tried a little heat with a heat gun while holding the rubber down with a board and some heavy steel blocks but it popped right back up. Do they need some sort of adhesive? The originals didn't have any from what I can tell so I'm assuming that's not my answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Trying to get my personal car read…

I'm finally getting the 17 240 painted and will need a car cover. CoverCraft seems to be "the best" but at $369-ish I thought it might be worth asking about alternatives that do a similar job but that don't cost quite so much. I'm not looking to be penny-wise and pound-foolish but if I can save $100 I would be happy. Initially the car will be outside... soon under a carport. Weather in NY metro area (all 4 seasons, some snow, plenty of sun) Thanks, Mark
