I have a JCR California z body kit on my 1973, but I do not have the rear bumper for the kit. I require the rear bumper for an out of Province inspection, therefore going bumperless is not an option. Besides I prefer the look with the bumper, it balances the large whale tail IMO. Does anyone know what the bumper was made of or was it a modified 280z bumper? Any help or sugestions would be greatly apreciated

Just used Mothers Clay Bay kit to do my 2003 S2000. Turned out nice. Before using the kit, I washed with a strong dish detergent to remove wax then used the clay bar over the detailing spray (lubricant) that came with the kit. Paint feels smooth and shines. (Now I have to touch up paint chips then wax). BTW if you ever thought clay baring was some sort of special art, it ain't, it is easy as washing your hands with a bar of soap. After doing this I wondered if the expensive Mother's kit was worth the $20 so I Googled. Turns out you can buy clay from most hobby/craft shops (even Walmart craft section) and use a spray bottle with mild liquid soap and water or a detailer sp…

Up until now I've not been a fan of fender flares on a z car, but this look really strikes me for some reason. Is this a custom molded flare, or is this the altered metal body? Call me crazy, but I love it.

I called around a bit for windshield price and install price and none seems to want to touch my exotic old car...It is pretty frustrating since satellite online quoted me $300 installed and then the local shop they sub through said they won't touch my car. Does anyone know of a shop around the Atlanta area who one can get the windshields(reproduction I assume) and two will install it in my car?

I installed the weatherstrip around my new windshield. The weatherstrip was from Black Dragon and not perfect. The top left quarter had a squiggle in the rubber. The trim I got from Courtesy Nissan. My window was a hack job by the po using silicone caulk. Besides looking like crap it leaks. Installing the trim pieces was not to bad. I started with the left then right then top. I put the trim in the outside lip and using my thumb rolled the inside lip over the trim piece. The corners were tough but I heated them with a hair dryer and it went in ok. I did not use any sealant for the weatherstripping or trim. The left and right pieces overlapped in the cent…

I bought some new tail light gaskets for my car-just in case I ever get it back from the body shop. When I took the old gaskets off (I don't think they'd been removed in 40 years) it looked like there was a thin strip of adhesive between the gasket and the body, maybe double sided tape? For those of you that have done this, did you apply any sealant to ensure a good seal?

Hi, I used the search function and when I looked at options for the hatch weatherstripping, there weren't a lot of options. From what I see there is the Victoria British, MSA, Black Dragon, or Kia sportage among other cars. I was curious if anyone knows weather anything from McMaster-Carr or other universal weatherstripping manufacturers will work and what's the part #? its for a 1973 240z btw. Thanks for any help!

I'm going to need a windshield rubber seal soon, and would like to get some reports from anyone who has used different suppliers products. The # 1 question is who should I buy from. My car is completly stripped at this time getting the cage installed. I spent the day fitting a fiberglass dash to the car, fitting it around the cage bars. As you can see, a lot of work is still to be done. I need to temporarily install the seal, to make sure the dash will fit up nice and snug to it. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks. Phred

This is from the 311s.org forum. I'm posting what Nissanman posted there and I presume it's the same Nissanman as here: Replying to the following: I followed the links given and there seems to be enough there that this should be posted for anyone considering this as a method of paint removal prior to their paint job. It's hard enough to do a good job without it peeling off the car later. Here's the link to the thread there: http://www.311s.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6977 2¢ E
