Hello Gents, As the title states I am experiencing some issues during deceleration when coming to a stop using the gears. I can put the car in neutral and it stays running. But when I use the gears to help with the stop especially when coming in hot and fast the engine just wants to die. It always dips to 500 RPM and most of the time just stops running. It idles good, it runs good going thru the gears, sounds freaking awesome! but the damn stop..... Been tuning the carbs for a few weeks and I think it is real close. Idles at 1000. Fuel PSI is 3.5. Fuel return line is capped. I barely have the 2-3K rpm stumble. I can tell it pulls very nice all the way to 5500 …

I just purchased a 1977 280Z as a project for my son and I. We are new to the Z car world. The car runs pretty well considering it has been sitting for a few years and is drivable after getting a new set of tires. The car is stock with the exception of triple webers and some modification to the vacuum advance that I don't understand. We are in the process of putting together the priority list for this project which will probably take a few years. But, in the meantime I would like to make the car a bit more drivable. The immediate performance problem is that the engine "bogs" down when accelerating in 1st and second gear. The car doesn't stall out completely but …

This occurs with one carb.while the other carb is rock solid stable. Normal setting for my car is 1 1/4 turns. Most recently, after 700 miles, the problem carb was down to 1/2 turn. I tried reversing the spring but it has not helped. I suspect the spring ends have been acting like a lock washer urging the screw in. I have been thinking about adding some thin brass washers to decouple the spring and screw. Any suggestions?

I picked up an old manifold that is a dead ringer for the Datsun competition manifold. The only problem is that while doing research I came across the Tomei manifoldwhich from the photos looks exactly the same. Did Tomei manufacture the Datsun competion intakes or did they just copy them?

I haven’t started the car in a few weeks (due to traveling) and I wanted to hear the car purr. But the #3 carb was gushing out gas…..not dripping. I mean shoot, just two weeks I was hauling butt up and down the highway! So I am thinking the float has a hole in it or the needle seat is jacked somehow. I take off the carb top and start to take off the float. I didn't have the punch lined up right and pushed too hard on the float pin. I broke the pin support on the carb top. Anyone have a 40DCOE-18 carb top? I don't want to get too discouraged but these damn carbs! Driving me to drink!...

I was wondering if the Weber Isolators were interchangeable with the Mikuni Isolators. Pierce Manifolds sells two types, the smaller round ones and the mounting block type http://www.piercemanifolds.com/product_p/z70-216.htm.

I am hoping someone has run into this before. I am swapping to DCOE45s from injection on #359550 '77 280Z - I bought an Advanced Fuel Products PN 56-012 fuel pump for carbed RX7s from BD. The outlet is M12-P1 parallel tread male stud - does anyone have a source of supply for, say - M12-P1 Female x 8mm barb fitting? or really any M12-P1 Female adapter to -6AN or 3/8FIP etc etc :stupid:

I was browsing ebay and spotted a parts weber dgv for really cheap I was thinking of picking up. And I noticed it had a finned redline air cleaner here is the link Redline 32 36 Weber Carburetor | eBay This thing looks really cool, I may buy this just for the air cleaner box. I've never seen this style before, and now I want a pair for my DGVs. If anyone has one pf these laying around, or knows where I could find them, comment or PM me. Or if you even remember them and may know when they came out that would be cool. I couldn't find anything on google either.

I'm new in this forum, but I found some other members may have this problem, I installed triple Webbers in my 280Z 1975, and I have it running pretty smooth, then you may ask, what is the problem?. THE FUMES!!! :ogre:, I "modified" the ventilation system and took out the PCV and put filters on the valve cover and in the pipe that came out of the block. hatch seals are new as all the seals in the body. but driving my beautiful Z is a nightmare. Can I do something to reconnect the vent system (PCV) using my setup?

I have a l24 bored 10 over with flat top pistons and a medium'ish cam. I want to run pretty high compression and was wondering as far as carbs go if I be better off with single 4 barrel carb (Bob Sharp setup) to get the best cfm or my 2 single updraft carbs. I can't afford the triple Webber's for 1500 dollars and I am wondering for the best bang for my buck what I am best off doing. I get mixed answers and opinions in my research. Also I plan on putting my Snow Performance water/meth system on it so I can run pump fuel if that makes any difference.

I pulled these off my 240z parts car and I am looking to rebuild them and put them on my 280z with a stroker motor. Any tips or concerns I should have and where to find a rebuild kit in general.I know they are in pretty rough shape but they are definitely rebuildable.
