Looking, like everyone else for a 240z

Hey everyone!

Just joined aboard this cool forum tonight. I once had a Z but it needed a bit more than i could handle at the time, so i had to re-sell it. It was a promising car too. 260Z that had been stuck in a barn since 1977 with the original tires, plates, registration all in it. The tires had gone square it had sat so long. But rust had gotten the best parts it. The dash had 0 cracks the interior was mint! 45000 original miles. I suppose it may still be floating around here in the state of Maine somewhere. I miss it, even though i never put it on the road.

Anyway...I'm shopping for a Z!

70-73 solid body. A weekend work on car like someone else posted. My budget will be $2000. I would prefer a black interior and manual tranny is a must. Any help would be great for a newbie like me. I live in Maine, which stinks because it looks like all the good ones come from California!

Anyway, if you live in Maryland or Maine give me a shout. I have a brother in Maryland who can help me out.

Ok, this one is not in maine, but might be worth looking at it!

MUST SELL. I have owned the car since 1979. Black Imron paint. The body is in very good condition. Never seen a winter. Interior is in good condition. Engin: Three weber duces, new header and custom european style exhaust, etc. I have ALL the original engine parts in storage if wanted. I have replaced the cluch, master and slave cylinders, breaks and master cylinder, alternator and a few other items. New tires, etc. Make an offer!! Call 608-526-3790 (Holmen, WI) or

I do not know the price, since I made my move on another car here in Montreal Canada.

Here is a quote from a mail I got from him:

(QUOTE)I still have the car. The frame is good. Not really any rust on the body. The

floor pans could use replacing but the rest is great. By the way. It is a

260Z not a 240.

The battery mount is fine also. Just minor rust there. I sprayed the engine

compartment with a rubberized coating in about 1980.

It is a 4 speed. They didn't have 5 speeds until the 280Z. There are 116,000 miles on the car. About 30,000 on the engine rebuild and remodel. You have to know that this is NOT a car to be driven in the winter. It never has been and there is WAY to much power for this. About 250-275 HP.(QUOTE)

I have seen some picture, and I did saw some rust sopot inside the engine bay.

The guy told me there was about 2000$ on the engine alone made by a professional Nissan mechanic.

Good luck!

:)
