Dude, that's nothing.

There's a crappy arse Familia around here that's had its plastic door moulding replaced with diamond plate steel... apparently the plastic wasn't heavy enough LOL Not only that, he/she's also diamond plated the front pillars and there's massive amounts of fibreglass front on it.. but it must go fast cause it's got orangey/lemony/yellowy flames painted on it's metallic baby blue bonnett. ROFL ROFL ROFL Oh, and the mandatory plastic looking modern chrome alloy wheels.

Hey Guys haven't you figured it out, the only performance MODs that truely do anything are bolted to the outside of the car or are chrome plated, made of carbon fiber, or flamed! These are the three food groups for cars. !

Look at all of the money you have wasted on stuff nobody will see! Forged pistons, Porting and polishing, Ignition, Urethane! What were you thinking? ...I can't believe you guys are this back_sswards! Everyon knows it is better to look cool than to be cool! Speed is relative, if it looks fast, it must be. What the hell is a wolf in sheeps clothing? Whoever said that there is no substitute for cubic inches had never been introduced to body kits and Forgers can exhausts!

No wonder you guys have such slow cars! It is pretty bad when my Honda civic (NOT EVEN A SPORTS CAR)can beat your Z(A TRUE SPORTS CAR) as long as they are both parked and I'm in front. Damn!

If the whole "ricer" deal isn't overdone enough, now here in Florida we are starting to see alot of these cars with the "Decca" doors. Nothing, in my book, is more wack than a Mitsubishi with the lambo doors. This modification is not cheap by any means so these kids have got the funds. When I was their age, it was all I could do to get a set of slotted mags for my Mustang. Then I had to save for the Thrush mufflers. Remember those things how god awful loud they were!LOL

Maaaate,

Just you wait until I get my carbon firbre bonnet, my cousin makes them in his back yard, they look fully sick mate....

Then you watch me pull the chicks.....

Seriously though I have to admit that when I was 18 I did have a crane cams stcker on the widscreen of my bog stock Kingswood, I grew up and so will these ricers. The sad part is that my crane cams sticker cost me $5.00. I was talking to a young guy the other day who had all of the obove mentioned mods (yes the bonnet was made by his cousin) he had a Lancer "Show Car" (I think it must have been to "Show" other how not to modify your car) The car owed him $12,000 in modifications alone. He was a really nice young guy and I felt really sorry for him that he had wasted so much cash.

On the upside though his girlfriend was stunning, maybe he didn't waste that cash?

Sorry guys, but anyone who thinks that 30 years ago it was any different in regard to the percentage of "performance" upgrades that were just junk for the looks of it are forgetting:

"Mag" wheel hubcaps.

Sick-on hood scoops.

Lift kits

(for leaf springs. How many of you know what those are? My S10 has leaf springs, and the wheel hop to prove it...)

"Traction bars"

(What ever those did, or were aledged to do... might have had something to do with leaf springs, or wheel hop. Yuck!!)

The entire 74 to 78 production run of the Mustang II

(How soon we forget. In the case of the Mustang II we can't forget soon enough.)

Even if lift kits and traction bars had some purpose, I know that removing them from my 72 Pinto (with a whopping 47 HP) didn't hurt a thing.

I can completely understand the point your getting at Alfadog. It's not like i hate these people who do these things to their car I just like making a bit of fun of them. I'm not old only 21 so there's no what my parents did i'm doing now.

Rather i'm more or less sick of seeing a lancer coupe with boring mag wheels and alteza lights on it. With a windscreen sticker , Yes maybe i do feel i'm superior in my Z but who here can deny they haven't? :)

Look these guys obviously do have the money and work hard but money can't buy everything and 1 thing is obvious everytime i open the magazine HOT4's is that money don't buy taste :).

So maybe i am a little harsh and maybe I should be a little more tolerant afterall I don't know everything and maybe sometimes I think i do. However I do try not to be stereotypical and as Rusty was saying about the guy with the carbon fibre bonnet.

I guess it's more a case of what floats your boat and ricers don't float my boat. I love it when i see a mustang in mint condition or any other muscle car of the day as usually they don't have the fart cans or huge jet fighter rear wings.

:D

Yes but you may all "reading the book by its cover". If u see some of these cars parked up you dont know whats under the hood. I mean yeh, there is a lota ricers but half of them acually kick some arse! Its just a big steriotype to young people with modded jap cars. What about all of the dickheads in there bog standard mid 80's commodore(aust. sedan) thinkin they own the world? Or even in the newer ones?

And then you get the people that cant see past V8's be it American or other wise. Anything with Japanese origin s a peice of crud to them.

You never know, there could be a 4cyl forum talkin' about how much $^!# they are being given by people like us(yous).

Yeh I buy the "fastfours" magazene but they do have some good cars. You(older) members are becoming like those V8 people i said before. You have to respect other peoples opinions of a good car. Crawl out of your Z hole and see the world...

I hope i didnt offened anyone!

Cheer'z' :bunny:
