Need New Auto Shifter Handle for 73 240zZ

Dan Stein

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a automatic shifter handle (knob) for my '73 240Z.

The knob should be in new or like new condition (no cracks or scratches).

This black shifter handle has a push button on the driver's side and a chrome ring around the push button.

I understand that I can buy them from Nissan for $75 but I don't want to pay that much.

Let me know if you have one for sale and the asking price.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

I have one out of a '78 280. I don't know if they are the exact same beast, but this one sounds identical. T-handle with black push button on driver's side of the handle. I'll see if I can find it in the garage and take a few pics. for you.

Cheers, Peter

They are interchangeable if I recall correctly, however, the later years had a CHROME handle with a colored vinyl insert and a black button. (The buttons were identical, although I seem to recall seeing some in blue). The earlier were plastic.

Personally I like the looks of the later shifter better, but I just used the original.

Even one out of a dreaded 280ZX will fit. I used one to replace the T handle in my 76 280Z when it dried up form the South Georgia sun and broke for the third time. The handle from the ZX is chrome plated metal with a pad and button of one color-they did come in black. If you would like pictures, let me know and I make it happen!
