ok, i have a 1978 dastun 280z 5sp FI. its up for sale. actually its been up for sale for a long time, and i need to get rid of it by this weekend. (i bought another car). if the car isnt sold by then , im junking it .i really dont want to! i really loved this car but i need the space.

heres the deal: the car hasnt run since december. before that it ran almost everyday, i drove it to work over the summer and cruised around in hte Z all the time. it probably needs a new battery by now. the car has 141,000 miles on it. the body is straight. light rust, light light structural rust, seriously nothing major. has a new dash cap, new center console with cup holders. exterior color is pale yellow and interior is black. might need a radiator soon and the rear knocks when u get on it. its the top if the differential case hittin the body. i ahd a couple of offers earlier in the winter, but i didnt think it was enough so iu kept it. now im kicking myself in the arse b/c in need the money NOW. it will need to be towed out. great project or parts car. BEST OFFER TAKES IT. NEEDS TO BE OUT BY THE END OF THIS WEEKEND. o have pics on request, i will email them to u.

thanks alot

Hey guys,

Brought this one to her new home on saturday. The car does have some issues, however nothing major. The car had been sitting for some time so the expectations were rather low.

Got to the sellers location and immediately crawled underneath it. Passenger side T/C mount where it meets the frame rail is starting to show signs of swiss cheese land. Not a bad repair and we caught it early. First to do.

The floor support rails are rotted through the center however not through the floor. Thats tolerable. Rear portions of the floors are starting to get soft. Thats about it as far rot is concerned.

Low beams do not work, windshield wipers not working. Sunroof leaks and the door and hatch seals are shot. All bushings dry rotted and the drivers side TC rod is quite loose. Interior is in good shape. has a dash cover and relatively new carpet as well as center console. The only real hump is the oil is the infamous blown head gasket milky white. We drained the sludge and flushed the motor. Cleaned the plugs and dropped some fogging oil down the cylindars and the cam. disconnected the coil, dropped in a battery and spun her over. After we spun it over a few times, we put the plugs back in rechecked the oil and cranked it up. The car fired right up and ran relatively smooth. after getting it to operating temp we shut it down and drained the oil again. After refill we started the car up and you can faintly smell antifreeze in the exhaust and its billowing the tell tale.

Over all not a huge disappointment in my book. SOme TLC and she'll be right as rain and the car was a steal at 400 bucks.
