Posted February 13, 200421 yr comment_68246 Hello everyone,I found this and I was thinking that the tires are not orignal due to size. Isn't the original bridgestones 175/75R14? Any information on this would be great. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34209&item=2460270017Take care,Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10171-original-wheels-hubcaps-and-tires/ Share on other sites
February 13, 200421 yr comment_68249 Think they might be "period" correct tires, but they are too big to be factory tires as far as I know. They look like the same tread pattern as the originals though, so, they may have been changed shortly after the car was purchased. I guess it's also possible the dealer put them on the car as an "upgrade" when it was new.I'd be happy to have just those hubcaps....:devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10171-original-wheels-hubcaps-and-tires/#findComment-68249 Share on other sites
February 13, 200421 yr comment_68263 We went through this with kats last September. One of the all time great threads...remember this?http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=9318&highlight=ORIGINAL+TIRESThe hubcaps discussed are the 1970 style, but the later ones are becoming just as valuable, eh? February 13, 200421 yr comment_68267 From my documentation and experience Datsun had changed the tire size with the introduction of the 280Z in 1975. The 240Z's and 260Z's had 175(H)R-14. The 280Z's had 195/70-HR14. As for the brand, a mix of Bridgstones and Toyos were supplied from the factory. Just a guess but because of the hubcap type involved, I'll bet these are original tires for a 1975 or 1976 280Z. To be sure you could always asked the owner for the date stamps on the tires and wheels.Koreavet Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10171-original-wheels-hubcaps-and-tires/#findComment-68267 Share on other sites
