Original wheels, hubcaps, and tires

Think they might be "period" correct tires, but they are too big to be factory tires as far as I know. They look like the same tread pattern as the originals though, so, they may have been changed shortly after the car was purchased. I guess it's also possible the dealer put them on the car as an "upgrade" when it was new.

I'd be happy to have just those hubcaps....:devious:

From my documentation and experience Datsun had changed the tire size with the introduction of the 280Z in 1975. The 240Z's and 260Z's had 175(H)R-14. The 280Z's had 195/70-HR14.

As for the brand, a mix of Bridgstones and Toyos were supplied from the factory. Just a guess but because of the hubcap type involved, I'll bet these are original tires for a 1975 or 1976 280Z. To be sure you could always asked the owner for the date stamps on the tires and wheels.
