Posted February 14, 200421 yr comment_68427 So as I write this, I'm at a good friend's, babysitting his dog. Are boxers supposed to be this hyper/annoying/whiny!? I'm not a dog person by nature, but I AM a very good friend by nature...which is why he's at the hospital with his wife (new baby!) and I'm here entertaining the mutt. Has anyone else been around a boxer puppy (~10 months) and could tell me what to do/expect? She IS cute, though...I'll upload a pic I took tomorrow. February 14, 200421 yr comment_68428 Of course, every individual dog is different, but boxers can be a handful...A friend of mine has one, which, when she was a pup was cute but not a "cuddly" dog. She was always bouncing around the room from one person to the next. She once used the back of the sofa as a launching pad to hurl herself half way into the kitchen, aimed directly at my chest....:cross-eye Nuttin worse than a flying 80lb+ dog....Even at almost 8 years old, she's a handful, and still a bit on the hyperactive side. February 14, 200421 yr comment_68432 Like 2many said Boxers are a handful. Mine was, I should say IS as hyper as the day I got him. They are very affectionate and want all of your attention. They might calm down after a while of playing and take a nap but after the nap it's back to playing. :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10181-boxers/#findComment-68432 Share on other sites
February 14, 200421 yr Author comment_68450 *sigh*That's what I was afraid of. Just took her out for the second time in about an hour. This thing is a urinating MACHINE. And here I am, the guy who likes small dogs who just exist to walk around and be petted occasionally (pugs, etc.) Oh well. At least I know I wouldn't live well with a Boxer (unless I had lots of time and a yard, then that'd be fun!) February 14, 200421 yr Author comment_68470 Okay, I take it back. She IS really cute and really fun. Too much for me on a daily basis, but very nice on occasion. Just woke up from a nap on the couch...I laid back and she curled up in a ball between my legs, and rested her head on my calf. So cute! Nabbed another picture earlier of her begging for my sandwich. Wish I were at home, though, so I could work on the Z... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10181-boxers/#findComment-68470 Share on other sites
February 15, 200421 yr comment_68484 Holy cow are they hyper!I am the, erm... proud owner of a 10 month 78 pound male Boxer puppy. Yup, I'd say he can be pretty annoying at times but damn he's cute. All he wants is to play and sit in our laps even though he doesn't fit very well. He doesn't do a whole lot of sleeping loves walks and playing ball. He is damn cute and whenever we take him on walks everybody loves to pet and play with him, wish I would have gotten one when I was single:D They do require a lot of patience though. Have fun!Hey Ed, you know, I hate to say it but I do miss Western New York.Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10181-boxers/#findComment-68484 Share on other sites
