Mike Posted February 15, 2004 Share #17 Posted February 15, 2004 If you guys are taking pictures with a digital camera... I have a hint for you. Open your manual or look at your camera to see if you have a "macro" mode... This will let you get close to the model and take the picture. Normal mode is typically 3+ feet from your target. Macro mode will allow you to get closer and the camera will focus better. Most cameras identify macro mode with a little flower.
2ManyZs Posted February 15, 2004 Author Share #18 Posted February 15, 2004 My problem is a cheap camera....and it's too dark without the flash, yet way too bright with the flash in macro....:cross-eye
26th-Z Posted February 16, 2004 Share #19 Posted February 16, 2004 You most definitely need a good camera to photograph models, but your pictures are pretty good, 2ManyZs. Controlling the flash lighting is quite difficult and spot lamps would seem better to light the car. Try using the telephoto zoom feature. The depth of field is way reduced, but you don't have to get in so close. I just bought this kit from Tamiya - 1/24th - Nissan R90V Group C, which should look like this some day. Zs-ondabrain Posted February 16, 2004 Share #20 Posted February 16, 2004 That would be nice but my camera was FREE.It has a max resolution of (640x480) and a minimum of (320x240)It's a JamCam 3.0 by KB Gear Interactive, and was a promo deal for some software company?? So I got what I paid for, It was free so I ain't bitchen. And I have the same problem as most of you, to dark w/o flash and to much reflection with the flash.Oh well, time to break down and buy a real camera. 26th-Z Posted February 26, 2004 Share #22 Posted February 26, 2004 Hello Caen Fred and I can't thank you enough for the link www.hlj.com I found EVERYTHING I was looking for, ordered stuff that was even listed as backordered, communicated easily and this morning they shipped it all from Japan. I'll let you know when the stuff arrives, but so far this has been the find of the century for S30 models. Check this place out. It is all in english and they have everything I have seen described NLA on eBay.

2ManyZs Posted February 26, 2004 Author Share #24 Posted February 26, 2004 Their price on the Tamiya 1/12 ZG kit is great, but they are way high on the Kyosho die casts..... Odd that they have such a good price on something that is NLA, yet something that is still available is almost double what you would pay either on Ebay or another supplier...
