Posted March 4, 200223 yr comment_3599 Hi Everyone,Question, rod n rod caps, are the notches on the same side or opposite?Got my engine balanced and the rods came back with numbers but some have notches on same side and others have them on the opposite side. Checked with book and it doesn't mention any place about orientation. Thanks a Mill, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/1025-rod-n-rod-caps/ Share on other sites
March 4, 200223 yr comment_3602 The only notches I can think of are on the pistons. Or do you mean the squirt holes on the cap?? Notches on the pistons all face the front of the block, the cap and rod numbers have to agree and in the same cylinder number and the squirt holes should all be on the same side. I believe the squirt holes should all be on the side opposite the oil filter. Hope that helps. March 5, 200223 yr Author comment_3631 Well, I call Rebello's Racing and talked to an engine builder there and he said that the notches or ring positioners are suppose to be on the same side. Hope this helps someone else going through the same situation.
