I am unofficially selling my unused fibresports front spoiler if you're interested.$100 . They cost $160 from fibresports.

same style as the red car in the banner on the top of this page.

I think you can also get the urethane msa spoilers for about 400 bucks from the Z car workshop.

You are probably looking for the spook type front lip additions though, and I don't know who sells those in Australia.

Are you from NSW or Queensland?

you're itsnotagsr from PF aren't you?

Zcarworkshop is in queensland- you probably may want to run into him at some stage of your targa preparation.

Don't have pics of the spoilers in question handy on me..

but there is a big thread about them in the archives somewhere.

Where is the z car workshop? Is it in Australia or the US?

A lot of the US stuff is a little tacky.

Z Car Workshop, Brisbane, tel 3808 2755.

There is one Murrican front spoiler I like, think MSA sell them, but too bulky to airfreight to Oz. So, going to make my own when time allows.

BTW the road scraper type front spoilers work a lot better than those cute little spook types.

Im in Sydney.

There seem to be a few on the US sites for around US$100-150 (probably unpainted etc)

Is there an "official" factory racing spoiler?

Does the z workshop have the nice little lip boot spoilers?

On a separate note... where can you get front strut braces from locally?

Thanks again guys.

I'm going to try out the 93 honda civic front strut brace mod as detailed in another thread on here.

I just happened to have one lying around the garage acting useless, so i'll see if it actually fits.

[i think the generic brands are around $150 ]

Zcar workshop should have them as well.

In sydney, im sure stewart wilkins would have strut braces.

Cusco also make front and rears for about 300 bucks each.

Are you going to have a weld in cage?

For a good cage that is a fair price. To do a good cage takes a lot of time, that is where the money goes.

As a general observation, check out the class you will be racing in and be very clear what is allowed and what isn't. It would also be a good idea to develop a connexion with a Z shop who is involved in competition stuff. Buy what you can from him.

You are probably aware of all that but there are so many tricks and traps in preparing a car and spending money wisely........

Yep. Ive raced cars before... but mainly moderns. Similarly my partner in this venture has built a lot of classics, but mainly British 50-60s cars and bikes.

Whilst Ive heard a lot of things about certain shops via other sources, its good to be able to use a resource like this as a sounding board.

Spending money wisely the first time is always the hardest part!

There are a couple of blokes in the Sydney Z car club who have a lot of competition experience, nice fellas too.:classic:

On the roll cage, it should particularly tie in the rear strut towers with a behind the driver hoop with some diagonal bracing there too. To counteract twisting in that area. On the 240 body, but not the genuine 260 body so much, the windscreen pillars are weak at the bottom.
