Posted February 23, 200421 yr comment_69548 I managed to find a Datsun 128X for sale. Bought it on Friday, was Delivered today. !973 Datsun 128X. No rust, but needs a new paint job, and has a smashed drivers window, but i think it was a good buy. Never seen one before, except in old photos on a Datsun history website. February 23, 200421 yr Author comment_69555 Yeah I think matchbox may have made a tupo when they cast 128X into the bottom of the car. I've seen photos of the 126X and it looks identical to the matchbox car. This is where I first read about the 126Xhttp://www.ratdat.com/history/1959to1972/1959to1972_pic.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10337-datsun-128x/#findComment-69555 Share on other sites
February 23, 200421 yr comment_69561 Mr C.Good luck with your restoration, I may be able to assist if you need a parts car, I believe that the 128x had a few design flaws, they were all prone to bending axles and I found that the tyres never had much gripROFL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10337-datsun-128x/#findComment-69561 Share on other sites

February 24, 200421 yr comment_69677 There's been a few of these show up on the local NZ auction website, I never really consider them worth the bother but if someone wants one let me know and if another one comes up I'll get it for you. There was 1 recently that was twice as good as the one you just got for about $1 if that and then there was another one that was MIB for a few dollars more. I wanted the Dastun 280zx book that i bid on, but i was out buying a new bonnet for the 240z when the auction ended, an I forgot all about it. :dead: P.S. Did anyone see the Datto 1600 that went for $800 in queensland? Had been stored in a shed for 6 years.
