Oh no, Guadelahara won't do-I readily admit, I like Steely Dan too! I second the Mainstreet; but, my first tape was Cletus Maggard singing "The White Knight", like admitting to like Steely Dan took Guts...

It is absolutely a travisty we have not mentioned The Eagles-I can still sing(if you can call it that) all of the songs from Greatest Hits 1 & 2.

I like Steely Dan. I was the Bassist (i.e. "rock star" ) for my high school Jazz Band! :D:beard:

Also, I feel that picking an album isn't as good as picking out a list of related songs, like on my " '70s CD." You could consider that an album of sorts, and can be taylored to your mood, or the destination, or "theme" of your trip, like a 50s car show...

BTW, you think I could get the :stupid: smiley for my avator?

Gema nailed it..my car is a journey!

As far as a song list goes here's my two cents:

Radar Love - Golden Earring

Roll with Changes - REO Speedwagon

Bodhittsava - Steey Dan

Ramble On - Led Zeppelin

Paradise by the Dashboard Lights - Meatloaf

Highway Star - Deep Purple

Locomotive's Breath - Jethro Tull

Jessica - Allman Brothers

Train kept a Rollin' - Aerosmith

Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits

Roadhouse Blues - Doors

Low Rider - War

Im in Love with my Car - Queen

Life in the Fast Lane - Eagles

Roll me Away - Bob Seger

Have a Cigar - Pink Floyd

Wow..the more I think of the more there are! I guess that means multiple compilations..yeah! I'll have to make one specifically for my '72 and one for the '78

Cheers all

Remember...

You only get about 80 minutes of music on a CD, so you need to keep in mind if your songs are long or short.

Are you going for some kind of theme, or just songs you like, or what? Random songs would be difficult to arrange in a way to keep the "feeling" going. You wouldn't want to get a shock when switching songs. Otherwise you end up with a boring documentary.
