Interesting post! What ever happened to old elbow grease? It seems like alot of effort and time goes into applying this stuff, when a little TLC and elbow grease on a regular basis (old school) seems to work wonderfully! I never did like any of the clear coats intended to cover aluminum or what ever. One tiny nick or scratch and the corrosion starts to propigate under the clear coat....then it really looks like crap. I'll stick to the old rubbing method, thank you!

Michael is working with a steel valve cover. I have polished and clear coated aluminum with good results. If the clear coat is properly applied to aluminum, corrosion won't develop under it.

I have not used Glisten on chromed or polished aluminum. But.... I have used the Por-15 rust products(including Glisten) extensively on my current Z project (pics in my gallery).

Several keys I found out the hard way are: no matter what product of theirs, it is best sprayed and when it says you can thin to 10-20%.... that means 40%. Until I thinned it that much it was a mess. This comes from POR -15 customer service. Another thing when spraying be sure your PSI gage is reading at least 80 PSI at the compressor so that you are at least 50 PSI at the nozzle. Other wise your will be globing that stuff out.

It definitely does the job it says it does. However, it is a process and unlike applying other automotive paint products. It challenges everyone.

So sblake01, are you saying Glisten PC is impervious to chipping or scratching?

Don't really know about Glisten PC. I used a differnt product. Can't recall the name. When I find it, I'll post it here.
