March 9, 200421 yr comment_71816 Saylum,Here is a Z car worth looking at:http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/2/0/66388420.htmAlthough it is not fuel injected (conversion to f.i. is possible) this car fits in your price range. March 9, 200421 yr comment_71887 Two things jump out at me in that ad. The Holley 4bbl conversion and the AC 'needs recharge'. When I'm looking at a car to buy and the seller tells me that, I wonder why, if it was that simple, that he didn't have it done. If that's all it would take for the AC to work, working AC would be a selling point. March 9, 200421 yr comment_71975 Stephen,For $2000 the A/C wouldn't be a priority but, there's alot of ads that mention stuff that if it was only minor then why wouldn't it just be fixed? The fact that the 260Z has a sunroof would be a detractor for me personally but, some people like them. On one of the 350Z forums someone had a sunroof cut into the roof of a new 350Z and they thought it was cool!I think Saylum will find it tough going out here on the East Coast trying to find a 280Z for $2000 that you wouldn't be scared to drive for fear of the seat falling out of the body. The term "restoration" got mentioned in this thread with regard to finding the ideal 280Z. It is amazing how many people will throw that term around without understanding what "restoration" actually entails. I think Saylum is actually looking for a driver/beater that can respond to bits of "reconditioning" here and there. If that is the case I would recommend spending the $2000 out towards the West Coast and then save a bit more for a plane ticket to drive said car home. I think there's enough members here that actually enjoy the "hunt" and wouldn't mind helping to locate a solid/sound car.
