Tokico VS. Tokico 5 way

Recommended Posts

I know there is about a $200 difference between a reg. tokico gas shock vs. the 5 way adjustable.

I know the major difference between them are that, with the 5 way you can make it soft to stiff, but lets say if the 5 way is adjusted to the stiffest

, how much stiffer is it then compared to the reg. gas tokico?

other than the stiffnest? what other difference are there?

because if the only difference are that you are able to adjust with the 5 way, I would just save my money and get the reg. gas shocks,

give me some advises guys, I need to finish my car before MSA autocross.

thanks

One of the websites that sells the 5ways say that the stiffness on the non-adjustable are about like setting 3 on the 5way. I have a buddy that had 5ways on a lowered 240. He says that even on the lowest setting the ride is really stiff.

I would really like to know what the bound / rebound numbers are for stock and for the Tokico, KYB, Koni, etc are before I made the choice to change out my stock suspension. I woul love for my Z to handle better, but I doubt I'll be doing any autocrossing, so the car still needs to be street-able.

I'm collecting the evidence before I buy. I'll post it on my website when I make my final purchace.

My husband has this "Kidney Killer" set-up on his red Z.

Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings

Suspension Techniques lowering springs (Z is lowered 2")

Tokico 5 Way adjustables

1" Heavy duty sway bars

4 Wheel camber adjustment kit

Front & Rear strut tower braces

Quite a painful ride in my opinion, but it's not my car.

LOL
