HID Headlights w/ City Lights

I found these on e-Bay and although not billed as the same thing as what I have, they appear very similar to mine. The biggest diference is that mine have 2 bulbs for the extra light and not just the one.

85/80W draw means 12Amps high/11.5 amps low?

the city light thing doesn't sound bad, especially if it helps you see around a corner. Is that what it does?

My headlights have a "Halo" around the light. The City Light I presume is similar. Unfortunately no pictures were shown as to how they look. Maybe someone has pics.

Where do you hide all the electronics for these lights on a Z?

No electronics. Just a couple wires to hook into the circuit of your choice. In my case I hooked into the parking lights.

But there IS some electronics. HID uses a ballast transformer or something to get make the high-voltage arc to light the bulb.

then it should have three wires for the low & high beam, ground.

You're talking a much higher end of lights than these are.

These are basically replacement lamps and not the HID with Ballast etc that you've read about elsewhere.

Enrique - it does have two bulbs the HID 130W and a 5W "city light"

Tomohawk - The city light is just a very dim (5W) bulb that probably isn't legal anywhere in the states for night driving but are representitive of day time running lights

What I meant by the 2 vs 1 bulb, is that the ones on e-bay currently show that there is only ONE bulb for the City Light portion of the lamp, whereas the lamps I bought have TWO bulbs.

Now, in addition to those bulbs, which are the ones that create the "halo" effect, are a set of "Xenon" gas H4 lights, meaning that they aree the replaceable "halogen" style of lamps. They are brighter than the original lamps, but don't know how much more so.

I wired my Halo's to operate with the Parking Lamps, that way at dusk when I typically run with the Parking Lamps on, they would be illuminated. I'm not sure if the single bulb in the ones on e-bay would light it up enough to provide a "halo".

Bill is correct in that they are just a pair of 5W side marker bulbs and not designed to light up the street. Their function is to look cool!

You'd be better off using a normal H4 headlamp and a round neon or a ring of leds around the headlamp.

Are there any ACTUAL HID conversions available for the Z car? I love the look of HIDs, and more importantly, I love being able to see at night (Had a bad accident due to poor visibility one time...never make that mistake again).

Just out of curiosity, how did you arrive at 12a/11.5a!??? Maybe a typo? Watts divided by volts equals amps. Or volts times amps equals watts. Would it not be as follows....85w @ 7.0amps / 80w @ 6.67amps?
