I went back to the Rialto, Ca. Ecology and all I found were two upside down L28D's with the cranks gone. Oh, well. I'll keep looking.

Are LD28 cranks that hard to find in australia?

Arent they from the old diesel patrols? gotta be a few of them in the scrap yards.

I thought Patrols had the old 4 litre 'P motor.' LD28s are from the early 80s RWD Diesel Maximas. I think the Australian public was fortunate enough to not have those offered.

So far I've seen 2 advertised, while i have managed to save some money towards one i don't know if i really wanna pay almost $1000 towards one.

It makes a turbo set up almost more viable.

However I will keep trying .

Gav, you want a 3.1 instead of a 2.8 turbo?

Maybe just get a RB30 from a commodore or skyline.

You can bolt on a RB20DET head and turbo it.

Yeah I wanna go down the Stroker path before i try turbo. I like turbo but I love the grunty noise of a worked L6. It's also the fact that turbo starts a few more headaches for me.

I've seen how a well built stroker motor goes on just a set of SU's so i've been pursuaded you could say.

I don't wanna do an engine swap especially a commodore engine even if it is a Nissan motor :tapemouth .
