70 rhd still in pieces but not as ugly as it was

I don't remember much about the 70 I had back when I was 19. Afterall, I was a stupid teenager! But I do remember that it didn't have a defroster in the rear window. At what point did they add the defroster? Just curious.

I am not sure maybe it was replaced. I have a 70 rhd and it has the vertical lined glass. I have had 3(2 were for parts) early 71's with the vertical glass. So I am not sure what to tell you. Maybe some others know, was it an option?

My 11/69 car has no defroster in the glass. 26th-Z has indicated that the defroster-less rear hatch glass is fairly rare, and that most early cars have the vertical defroster glass.

FWIW.

I have the vertical defrost traces on my 3/70 (s/n 02126) hatch. They don't work of course, but if I removed the old defrost traces, does that mean I'll have a rare rear glass???? (Yah, right!!!) What do you think guys, sjould I leave them or remove them??
