Ouch indeed.

Sure glad I didn't rush out and spend my paper route money on one ROFL.

Not haven driven it I can't comment on its ride characteristics, however from what I saw in the video it sure looks like a plain jane performer. And the engine sounds terrible, absolutely terrible.

Cheers,

Peter

I don't think the video or sound on the video is enough to judge the car's performance. While I still prefer the G35 coupe, it does seem to me that this guy was a bit biased. I'm certainly not sure about the claim that the engine is French from Renault. Unless the UK version is somehow different I believe the engine is simply the latest version of Nissan's rock-solid VQ35.

All the Top Gear videos on Japanese cars have been pretty much harsh like that one. They seem to be against them and don't give a real evaluation in my opinion. "Where your dog would normally go" um that comment is an example of what I mean. I have seen video's from Best Motoring comparing the new Z with the much more powerful M3, S 2000, Porsche Boxter and the out come was the Z taking 1st. In my opinion the new Z is an excellent performance car and the only thing I would agree with Top Gear is some of the quality used in its interior.

yeaouch. Whenever I see this guy I can't help but think he's just saying as much crap as he can about the car in question to be controversial.

And he's a British Car Journo. Of course he's going to lay it on thick with a Japanese car! :stupid: LOL

What you failed to mention in that vid with the S2000 and the M3 and the Boxter was how for the first 3 laps, that Skyline was doing some very good blocking for the 350Z.

If you ask me, if it wasnt for the Skylines blocking I think the S2000 would have taken the 350Z easily.
