OK 240z for sale, help?

Datsun 240Z 11/1972, reasonable condition, 6/2004 reg, $4000 or near offer!!!

is the datsun 240z really worth that much? if its a auto, is it worth buying, cos i want a manual and unsure on how easy these gearboxes are too get????

In your neck of the woods, as long as its pretty rust free thats a good price.

Take a look at it and see what the condition is. If it is in good rustless condition, maybe offer him 3500 and see if he bites.

Also when you go to look at it keep in mind, if you are going to do restoration, how much work you will be looking at. Rember, parts cost money too. Also ask yourself if any of the work will be over your head.

OK i had a look at it, its ok condition, hes had rust cut out, the driver side, the floor was replaced, few little bits of bog here and there, seems ok, but its got the 2.6 litre engine it in, so its not original, also many little problems here and there, like the choke, the drivers seat belt doesnt clik in, hes askin $4000, i recon i could maybe get him down to $3500, but still 3500 seems still to much, im jsut wondering will i ever find a better 1 for a better price, is 3500 good for a 240z!!! ??????????

Is it worth it to you??? On any car this age, you will not find a hard and fast rule on pricing fairness. It is all supply and demand. I have found time and time again, what I think is too expensive, someone else thinks is a deal. It is all in what you expect out of your money. If you can live with the issues the car has, and will be happy with it, then $3500 is a good price. If you have serious reservations about the price, then plow on to the next one. There will always be another Z to look at. Most (90%) of the members here have looked for over a year to find the right car. I have been looking just a hair longer than that myself.
