March 17, 200421 yr Author comment_73071 Hmmmm...Z-roadster:love: But Keith is closer, and drives a truck.....Hey Keith, wanna make a couple bucks?? I doubt Susie would bite on a vacation to Texas to trailer a Z home, but hey, you never know..We (Susie & I) briefly discussed this- she would opt for:the new T-bird convertiblenewer 'Stang convertiblenew Z-convertiblea "finished" 1600/2000i figure by shopping, you could find a Datsun for 1/3 to 1/2 the price of a T-bird?Then she said: "Why don't you just finish the body and paint the 73 for me to drive?" God, i love that girl! (of course, i had planned a V8 in that car)I guess i should feel lucky that these are the worries that i lay awake thinking of..I think when the sun warms the garage, i'll start tearing the 73 fenders off. Only so many times a wife will give the go ahead for our other passions, eh? So, new plan:make the 73 look decent, title it in her name, to show how much i love her, THEN shop for a V8 Z, or convertible, or Roadster....Thanks everyone,Jeremiahps- if i find a "deal", plans change accordinglyLOL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10770-do-i-want-a-roadster/?&page=2#findComment-73071 Share on other sites

March 17, 200421 yr comment_73090 Me go to San Antonio? No thanks.....been there, done that.... Besides, with the price of fuel and gas now, it would be cheaper to have it shipped by truck. March 18, 200421 yr comment_73219 I actually wish I still had my roadster. It was a fun little car! But, it was just that.... LITTLE. Every time an SUV would pull up behind me, I'd take a quick glance to the side to make sure I could escape if he couldn't stop. FYI, the bumpers are just about eye level. It was a great little car to take out into the country on a nice hot day. I remember spending some great times with my dad before he passed away doing just that..... The car was pretty expensive to buy parts for, so, keep that in mind. If you have a chance to buy one for less than the current owner has spent on it.... that's gonna be your best deal. I spent over $5,500 getting her running one summer (including the purchase price). Sold it to Enrique for $2,500. I was also offered a prime Roadster for around $6,000 (owner spent over $15,000) and I declined. That was a mistake!! Anyway, get a good one and you'll love it. You don't want to drive a project around all summer... just get one that works good!! March 18, 200421 yr comment_73220 I've owned a '65 SPL1600 and 2 SRL2000's. They are fun cars, and the 2000's run like scalded apes. After I put a roll bar in the last one I owned, it took corners like a go cart.
