Does the switch control the speed of the fan when you use it to turn it "on"? If so, then you either have a short in the wiring that's allowing it to receive juice when it shouldn't, or the motor has been wired incorrectly.

There's another post on the heater motor. Read through that and see if that helps you get yours fixed.
