Its a 1980 280zx, It has about 260 000 miles on it. Stright six engine, fuel injected. I bought it used with about 250 000 miles on it, at the time it was not running. I bought it as a project car and it was going very well. I had to put a lot of time and money in it to where it is now. It has a new body on it and I started to do the interior when it stoped working. But like I said, It was not working when I bought the car and I had to put new pluges, pluge wires, coil, roter, distributor cap, battery, fuel pump, master cylinder, alternator and fuel filters in it to get it working. It was working great, running smooth. It was even getting good gas mileage. Then the trany went in it. So I got a replacement for it. So theres a new 5 speed trany in it. Then after about 500 miles, my drive tran went out, so I put a new drive tran in. It was running great, untill I started having some fuel problems. It got bad fast and i could not figure it out. I tried many things. I put a new o2 sensor in it, an egnition switch, an airflow meter, I fixed the timing. But it still isent working. The car starts up and idols fine, it even sounds smooth, but as soon as you hit the gas it chokes out, but if you hit the gas slowly you can take the rpms up to 5000 with no problem, it only chokes when you hit it hard. I have over $2000 in it and i would like to brake even by selling it. I am getting ready to go to college and i need a reliable car. Steve, sorry to hear this. You've put alot of time and money into this car and I can see how your sick of it. One thing after another, been there done that. But you've got to ask yourself will another car be dependable? Unless you buy a new car you might go from one moneypit into another. Actually, either way you slice it you will be spending money on a car. Either $300 a month on a new car or $300 a month for maintanance on your 280. Atleast with your 280 you already know alot.

Your current problem doesn't sound to bad, maybe another clogged fuel filter or clogged injectors. A car with 250,000 would have accumulated some crap in the gas tank and might be clogging your filter.

If you are still determined on selling your car let us know where you are. And pictures too.

Unfortunately I couldn't tell you what it's worth without seeing it. I don't think you will get back what you have invested. Sorry.

I checked all of the filters and they all seem to be clean, I replaced one all ready. Im in central Florida, in the Ocala area and i should have pics latter this week
