Anybody know e-bay datsunz903? I was bidding against them for a chrome Z emblem, but it's getting a little too rich for me. Their profile says they're from Japan, so I thought it might be kats.

I answered my own question by looking up kats profile. It's him. At least another club member might get it...

I've often wondered if the bidders I was bidding against were members here, or if the sellers were members......

I guess it's better to lose to one of our members than members of those "other" Z sites isn't it?:devious:

I have bid against someone I knew (and from here) at least once. My ID was a bit more obvious than his and he e-mailed me, "What'ya doin?!?!?!"

Nothing wrong with bidding against anyone else whether they are from here or not.

No, there's certainly no problem with bidding against someone on the board, and I've done it several times. In fact, I got a message back from kats and found out that I won some NOS braided heater hoses the other day that he wanted, but I got! However, if I know I'm bidding against someone on the board, and we communicate, if I don't REALLY want the thing, I'll back off and not run up the price if I can. If I REALLY want it, then to the highest bidder goes the spoils!

Yeah, a while back I noticed you were bidding on a NOS cardboard glovebox. It was already up to $60 or $70 and I didn't bother jumping in. I was hoping that you would win it and could then provide detailed dimensions and pictures so that I could start fabricating them and sell them for $20 each.

I think I gave up on that one, but I did finally get one from Bob Zola that was used, but only a couple years, and is in essentially new shape. It was't cheap, but less than $50. I've thought about making them myself, since it is just cardboard, but I have had better things to do with my time! Maybe I should make patterns and post them or something...

I'll put it on my "things to do" list. I might actually try to take apart the original one from my car (which the PO cut a huge hole in the back of), since for patterns, you really just need the outlines of the pieces, and I think those might be intact. I'd get better patterns off a taken-apart box.
