TomoHawk Posted March 24, 2004 Share #15 Posted March 24, 2004 If I had some Z stuff I wanted to sell, I would probably put it up for sale here first. I bet some guys already know what YOU might have in the back room and are just waiting for you to put it up for sale! BTW, I have a chrome hood emblem you can have, if you want it. I took most of the emblems off already, just keep a couple on to keep the holes plugged! Have a frugal day...

I don't know if you've followed the threads on the "chrome Z", but what I was talking about was a '240Z' emblem where the 'Z' is chrome colored instead of white. They are apparently only on very early cars, and not on all of those, and are quite hard to come by. There are versions of the hatch "240Z" as well as the "flying 240Z's" on the pillars behind the quarter windows. These are not of any interest to you (since you have a 280), and are really only of interest to 240Z owners who like to collect the very early, odd, rare, etc. stuff. TomoHawk Posted March 24, 2004 Share #17 Posted March 24, 2004 the original post was for a chrome Z emblem, but didn't say it was for a 240. thx.
26th-Z Posted March 24, 2004 Share #18 Posted March 24, 2004 Mark, I think the 240Z kats bought last night was a hatch emblem. The picture looked like it needed to be re-chromed. The quarter emblems have the round disc field behind the 240Z. If you think about it, a new plastic hatch 240 is $53, the price kats paid was reasonable. But back to the issue....I bid against you guys all the time as well as buy from you. I keep my eBay identity low profile just so I don't get hate e-mails

You're right that the price wasn't too out of line, but it was for a used emblem, and I already have a full set of NOS emblems for my 240. And I have a lot of other things to buy and can't spend too much on collectibles versus usables... Have fun with your incognito bidding. :tapemouth

kats Posted March 26, 2004 Share #21 Posted March 26, 2004 Hi,yes that is me.I was surposed to bid for this too,http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=33643&item=2468143156&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AITThis is a chrome "Z" verision. And to see the back,it is very unusual solid casting. My chrome"Z" version wing badge has normal forming on back, digged for light weight. It is same as a white inlay"Z" version.I remenber when Mr.MATSUO showed me a prototype emblem for S30,it was a very thick and solid casting without any digged for light weight. So this auction item is a real early emblem must be some around Sep or Oct made I guess.I learned there are 3 type of metal emblems.#1 earliest metal emblem chrome "Z" with solid back#2 earliest metal emblem chrome "Z" with light weight back#3 metal emblem white inlay "Z" with light weight backI really wanted to bid for this, and I would shoot my best just before the end of auction this is my strategy.BUT I forgot it!!Today here in japan was a nice sunny day, warm and clear sky.I got up late 9:30 am and checked the ebay,"....The item will end after 2 and a half hour.O.K,I can go to a barber...."When the barber was shaving my face,I found I was surposed to bid.I asked him "What time is it now???"kats
