O Snap David! Sorry Man! Actually that's kinda funny now. "Visa owns me" LOL . Sorry. Hey man my new rear had just been worked on! Other side wasn't done. Good one Panchovisa!

Thanks Carl, very, very helpful as always! Bambikiller are you gonna come down for the show?

Hey PV How is sweetgrrl gonna run out of patience? She has not asked for a pic. Only YOU guys. HUM? Starting to wonder 'bout that. Maybe she read a little truth into Bambi's cartoon.

:devious:

hmmm...frank13, are you sure its an ignition switch problem...sounds more like a stick shift problem to me...LOL. well, I'm not going to be the one actually doing the body work. I can do some light patching and stuff like that, but was never any good with a wielder, so I will be taking it to a shop to get all that done. awwww..you mean they didnt let you keep the pic of you in that pretty orange jump suit :( . and well...i..uhhh...i'm flattered that you think I'm cute ~blushes softly~. and as far as the wedding ring goes...drumroll please...LOL...no, there is no ring on my finger, and to be honest, i'm not planning on one being there for a while yet so. The reason I havent asked for a pic frank is because i figured if you wanted to show me you would ~S~

I'll post my pic to the mugshot board right after i post this. I still havent taken one of the car yet, but will try to do that tomorrow if time permits.

Alfadog, I'm sure there has got to be at least one cute girl in Australla (hope i spelled that right) that loves her Z car.

I tell 'ya sweetgrrl! Not Stick shift! I am being clean and pure hearted here. Hey now ORANGE is for violent offenders and felons. You are equal opportunity I hope. No they diddn't let me keep the pics. I would like to show you but I am very shy. And these bunch of Z weirddos are watching. Are you asking?

Actually I kinda thought I might have wigged you out a bit?

ROFL AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that's right the BIG fisherman Alphadog! See mate that's why I don't post pics. Even the ONE I did of a new R200 I picked up, Panchovisa got a good joke in about it!!!

'O by the way Holly your very lovely. And a very good sport. Bet it's due to a vast amount of brain power. :devious:

so frank, is there any way that your ignition problem can be fixed, or is it something thats going to plague your car..(or is that you?) for some time ~gigglez~. I definately understand about the shy thing. I tend to be that way as well. I would love to see a pic of you. you can private message it to me if youd like. well, i dont know about the vast amount of brain power, but i do know that you have to have fun in life.

Maybe you guys can help. I seem to be getting no love from hybridz fans. My 240Z has the L28 engine conversion in it. First problem I had was that I would go to start and then let off so the car would run, and it would die. I changed the back of the switch and still the same thing. Then I went to shoot wires and my wife would turn the switch so I could see what wire was hot in start and in run. So, I thought I had it going good. She would start the car and it ran. Then I did a dance and thanked the car gods, but I don't think they were home at the time. I told her to turn the car off, and she said it was. :tapemouth Keys in her hand, the car was still running. NO :finger:  :tapemouth WAY!!! Where did I go wrong??

Can someone help me, the car is my baby. She needs to be driven!!

I forgot to mention, when I start my car the tach will jump and then die, but the engine runs. I must have the worse case of goblins in my car. Any suggestions...shoot more wires, take it to the shop, shoot it....I would never do that. I love my car too much. Ofcourse not as much as my family.

Thanks again.

I got the car with the engine already in it. I don't know what wires he cut or whatever. All I know is that the car has a L28 engine and 240Z wires with SU Round top carbs. There wouldent be a diogram of this would there? When it comes to wiring, I'm as good as :stupid:

Could you tell me which wires and where I need to splice a diode in? I don't think I'm leaving anything out. If you need more help figuring my problem out, feel free to ask me any and all the questions you need. I have a feeling if I have someone else look at her, it will cost around $300 +/- parts.

Glad to have you guys around.

Thanks Frank and Bambikiller.....

The link below is to an article on how to chage from stock 240Z Alt to the internally regulated type. It explains how to alter the wiring. See 4A and 4B near the bottom of the article for specifics.

Internal Regulated Alt Conversion

I've also attached a picture of how one person achieved the wiring changes and diode install. It could look somewhat different on your car. Everyone has their own way of doing things.
