Neckar....Indy league...there's a diference? Oh yeah...one is open wheel. One is the absolute ultimate form of spec racing--only uni-directional--and the other is a lot of great talent and phenomenal machinery going to waste.

They both suck.

Road race or die.

In Nascar you can't really tell the Fords from the Chevies or Dodges. The bodies all look basically the same anymore. Before Nascar grew to what it is today I used to watch it for the competitiveness. Cale vs David or Richard or Fireball etc. Now, I watch it for the drama. Did you see all the crap in the Bristol race today? Or even in the Bristol Busch race yesterday? It was much more than just the normal bumping and banging. The were trying to wreck each other. You put all that horsepower on a half mile track and something's bound to happen. They've got cars qualified at the back that are dangerously slower than the front runners. You don't really see that in other forms of racing. They need to limit the field. It will never happen since that would also generate less money.

I always watch the Nascar races at Bristol, Watkins Glen or Sonoma... the rest I don't really car about anymore. Too much "political correctness" being applied by Nascar and the networks. It's getting so the drivers are afraid to say hell or damn even after some bozo rams them head on into a concrete wall.:ermm:

Question 1: Who's the most popular driver in NASCAR? (I'd venture to say Dale Jr.)

Question 2: Have you ever heard Dale Jr. in an interview??? It's scary to think that he's placed on the pedestal that he is! Intellectually, this guy is a complete rock head. Ask Dale Jr. a question, and guaranteed, somewhere in his answer are a minimum of three "awesome"s.

It's crazy to see the number of derelict clowns driving down the road (usually tailgating somebody) in their Ram pickups, with those goofy NASCAR stickers ("24", "8", a "3" with halo and angel's wings, Calvin pissing on a Ford logo, etc), cramming super size fries into their face.

Small wonder that people from other countries think we're goofy.:(

of course other countries are going to think were goofy voteing Jr for pres.LOL. the guys just like his old man only way they could win is to wreck the compition.

look at daytona. if Dale Jr hadnt messed up Curts fender.Curt would have beaten him.

dale senior wrecked terry lobonte like 5 years in a row at bristol while Terry was leading.

racing is racing untill you become a cheap skate

Well now............this is certainly an interesting string of posts!!!! Carl starts a funny and everyone starts talking s_ _t about one of our favorite past times.....RACING. Who care which form of racing is the so called best. Racing is racing. Interesting, yes? I quess one of the funniest things about these posts is trying to read some them..............come on, you did have grammer and spelling in school didn't you??? On second thought, don't change a thing........I love the entertainment.

Agreed, the people we place on pedestals is amazing. But, Nascar is certainly a lot better than other sports. Just look at basketball. These guys are roaming around our cities smoking pot, racing their Mercedes', flashing their "bling-bling", raping innocent college girls, and living the high-life.

For me, I absolutely *DISPISE* basketball, football, and general sports figures (and even other kinds of stars) who act like this. When was the last time you saw a famous basketball star on the news for some kind of infraction like this? And, how many kids look up to these idiots as role-models?

Most of the Nascar drivers I've seen (so far) are family oriented and put out a good name for themselves and the sport.

You can't be a drug-addict and drive a car 200mph. But, you can certainly be a drug-addict and dribble a basketball.
