August 8, 200420 yr comment_90202 MikeW,Thanks for the speedy reply. I really like your car and wheel/tire choice. OK I think that has convinced me to go with that tire size. The sidewall size is a little smaller than my current tires but it still looks very good. I'm considering the Panasport 16x7 inch wheels and now have to make up my mind between the all silver or the gun metal gray ones. I'm leaning towards the gun metal ones as I think that would make a nice combination with my silver 240Z.How have you liked those tires in regards to ride and performance?thanksMax Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10998-restoration-tire-size/?&page=2#findComment-90202 Share on other sites
August 8, 200420 yr comment_90209 Max, you should go with all gun metal Pans. You also might be better off with the 15 by 7j ones because you could have a bigger side wall and a better ride. Take care,Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10998-restoration-tire-size/?&page=2#findComment-90209 Share on other sites
August 8, 200420 yr comment_90227 MikeW,Thanks for the speedy reply. I really like your car and wheel/tire choice. OK I think that has convinced me to go with that tire size. As Stephen already pointed out, I'm using the car's original 14" wheels with 205/60-14 tires. If you go with 15" or even 16" wheels you must go with lower profile tires. That's the whole point of using bigger wheels. You must go with a lower profile in order to retain roughly the same tire diameter.
