Unless the donor car is a RHD car, in which case the battery isn't located on that side, and wouldn't have dripped acid and stripped the paint, causing the rust.

Not necessarily true... I found a donor here in NJ that was sitting in a lot for years. The car had apparantly been rear-ended and the body left for scrap (frame rails, battery tray, etc.) They are out there...

I was thinking of just pop rivet some metal in so I can drive it to my friends.What do you think?

What are you going to rivit it on to? Rust? I dont think that It'll do much. If your serious about the resteration, get it trailered home or to the workshop. If you want it to muck around in, by all means drive it to your mates place, just make sure you have a coushin under your arse for when the floor gives way and you fall onto the bitumen!

hahaha.Its not THAT bad! You guys make it sound like once I take it out of my driveway its gonna fall to pieces.haha. My brother got the car for me when I was in japan and he Flat towed it home with no problems.You know just pulling it with another car with rope. And we have big speed bumps near my and it didnt collapse.hahaha

oh and no not pop rivet onto rust.im not that stupid.Get rid of all the rust then see what I can pop rivet to.
