sblake01 Posted March 31, 2004 Share #2 Posted March 31, 2004 Are they saying that they have found and are in the process of restoring 'Big Sam'?
v12horse Posted March 31, 2004 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2004 I don't know a whole lot about Samurai Z's, but they made many Z's(not sure of the exact number). They were for the UK Z like what Scarab was for the US Z back in the 70's. They would take a normal Z and soup it up with performance parts according to the customers specifications. They are not saying that they found Big Sam. Big Sam is found and doing well. Big Sam happens to be a very successful circuit racer in the UK that is a Super Samurai Z. The picture of the restored engine bay is of the Big Sam car. I hope this helps.Ben

daddz Posted April 1, 2004 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2004 There have been many things written about 'Big Sam' and his creator(s) Spike Anderson and Bob Gathercole. An article worth reading is here:http://www.zhome.com/History/BigSamIsBack.htmWin Percy used to drive a 'Samuri' Z as his personal transport and later drove 'Big Sam' in various races with varying degrees of success. A funny anecdote about 'Big Sam' was that a day or two after a race outing the car was driven to the market and back home afterwards.
