Z car update

Hello again

Well i finally got a chance to look over my newly aquired Z, still dont have any pictures yet but they are coming soon, being new to the Z cars i had to do a bit of reading and i'm slowly picking up bits of needed info. as for the car: 1978 280Z 123,000 miles orange, all orginal except for the stereo, after looking it over really good i did find a few spots of rust, (1) lower rear fender in front of tire on the l/h side and (1) on the lower front fender on the r/h side the body has just a few minor dings but the paint is awesome for a car this old! It runs great but still needs the clutch master and slave replaced, and the front brakes reassembled, this is a non emission car so it should be easy to get inspected here in texas! i opened the rear hatch and this car still has the orginal spare tire w/ can of inflator tool kit and jack (i've never seen this before) LOL, it will need carpet for sure and the seats have the orange inserts (not all black) but will need new covers also! I'm kinda excited about this project and will get pics. soon!

Welcome aboard JetDoc,

Nobody knows anything about Z cars on this site.............ROFL ROFL ROFL Of course I'm just kidding!!! If a question can't be answered on this site about the early Z cars, it's not likely there is an answer. There are definitely some really sharp tools in this group.

Me again! Just wanted to thank you for the warm welcome, its great when people can share knowledge and time for everyone to acheive their goal to keep these cars on the road! I have already compiled a bunch of parts for my car and will start with the clutch system tomorrow maybe even the brakes! I do however have a quick question: When i went to pick up the car it started no problem, i got it home via tow truck, parked it in the driveway which has quite a slope but the car started, now today it will not start, all i did was wash it!! The fuel gauge read empty so i put 5 gallons of gas in it but still no start, i guess my question is.... will this fuel system prime itself or am i going to have to do something to help it along? its a 1978 w/ FI any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for the warm welcome, i look forward to getting to know everyone!

if the car hasn't been moved from where you started it in the driveway and you washed it , assuming you have the vented hood on your 280z dare I say give it a bit to dry and try again , you might have an exposed wires or connection , check the dizzy and make sure it is clean and dry , good luck
