ZOVER Posted April 4, 2004 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2004 Quick question, I need to replace belts and hoses on a 70 240z. Is there a good place on-line to order parts for z's or should I just stick to my local autoparts dealer?Zover
billcapp Posted April 4, 2004 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2004 Parts such as belts and hoses are best bought locally at your parts store..just make sure if you are buying a brake master or alternator or other electrical items, that they aren't being substituted by the wrong model year especially if you have a 70 - 71. Later year models - 72- 78 use many of the same parts.
240ZMan Posted April 4, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 4, 2004 I agree with Billcap that for belts your local parts store is probably best and easiest. But for hoses (except perhaps radiator) my local parts houses don't stock for early Zs. I found MotorSports and Victoria British to be the best. But get their paper catalog. Their on-line catalog leaves a lot to be desired. And defiinitely order via the phone. I'm not trying to slam them, it's just that they are better set up to deal with paper catalogs and live phone calls than on-line.Plus, the catalogs are a good way to see what years use the same parts. Makes it easier when you are "getting creative" :classic: .

wal280z Posted April 9, 2004 Share #5 Posted April 9, 2004 Midwest Z does a fantastic job in getting NOS parts and hard to find stuff. Don't know how they do it, but they do it! Highly recommend them!I would recommend getting the genuine hoses for inside the cabin, as they are preformed and make the job go a whole lot eaiser, aftermarket is suitable for the engine bay stuff.Wayne
