SledZ Posted April 5, 2004 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2004 After many evenings and weekends and a "few $$$$" I finished putting it together and hit the road for the first time and what a treat, worth every bit of the effort. It sticks to the road like glue and turns heads like crazy. I actually kinda had a head ache from all the cornering, (not used to it yet!) For the first time ever driving one, (other than back in 74 as a kid) I thought it was just right, not to rough and not a bit mushy, it does not have any rattles and I thought it was quiet enough. On some of the rough roads it is a bit bouncy but thats fine. Now I know we like them so much,,,, there COOL !
ChrisA Posted April 5, 2004 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2004 Hey SledZ, car looks really good. Hope to see it at the Stan Olsen show on the 25th. Chris
2ManyZs Posted April 5, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2004 Boy, sure am glad you got the brakes fixed in time for spring...:cheeky: Being that I was raised in the "frozen north" I found your site interesting, but I have to ask one question. How can you not have a Mercury Sno-Twister in there somewhere?:devious: Ain't "skeered" are ya??? Man, those things were the quickest thing on snow for quite a few years..... I gotta admit though that 340 RV was a cool looking sled in its day, but it just begs for a 440 in it doesn't it? Wish I could dig out the pics of the ones we had when I was a kid. Let's see, 67 Alouette, 70 Alouette, 74 Scorpion Super Stinger 440 and a 71 Sno-Jet 396 Wide Track.:cross-eye
