Geez, it's starting to sound like ZCAR around here. Did they start screening membership or something? Do we need to start? Are we too big? We've got a kid with a Honda trying to sell us photoshopped Eclipses and someone else posting polls based on what he read in the classifieds this morning. Meanwhile, I have a good friend, intelligent, dedicated Z owner and VP of one of the biggest Z clubs in the US sitting at home, not able to post while his memberhship is approved.

I WANT MY 240z.org BACK!!!!!

sorry...

steve

People are permitted to have an opinion, but they aren't allowed to damage someone's character. And that goes both ways.

I've tried to stay out of this thread, but...........

I agree with the quoted part of your statement, Tom.

However, as for a member requesting suspension, or total removal of privileges of another member, I completely disagree. The world has enough intolerance and people playing Big Brother already. If someone is slandering another person, report the post, then ignore the member (and/or the thread) and let the admin determine what needs to be done, if anything. After the post(er) is reported it is their (admins) job to apply the publically posted rules and consequences to the offender. It should be done in a fair and consistant manner. Also, don't get all bent out of shape if the admin deterimines that the post you reported wasn't worthy of removal, or disciplinary action. You are not always right, none of us is.

Additionally, I feel that expressing opinions in a passionate manner (without slander) should not be a problem (and should not be considered "flaming"). Each of us has an opinion or two, (or three....) that we feel very strongly about. Discussion of varying opinions is IMO a way for people to learn tolerance and to learn more about a subject. I get the impression that Mike wants to shy away from some of the political discussions that we've had in the past, so maybe this won't matter much, but everyone should practice a little tolerance of others. WE do not all have to agree on everything, THAT ain't gonna happen in the real world. People will disagree, but in the end each of us has the right to our own opinions. Expressing them in a civil manner is the right way to do it, and should not be looked down upon.

This may be a "Z" website, but it is also a community of people from many different backgrounds. We have the love of Z's in common, but we are also different in many ways. THAT is not a bad thing. We can learn a lot from one another.

Just My Opinion

I am sorry but I thought this was a web site for Classic Z cars. If we stay to the subject what is there to flame any one over. What spark plug to use ??? My personal beliefs are my business and yours are yours and I dont need to get personal with any one here. If I have knowledge that I can share with some one about the Zs , I will . If I have a problem with the car I will ask for help .When we get personal that when things get sour. If some one disagrees with something I have posted , the reply if not put as a personal slam should be taken as a disagreement and a difference of knowledge that is all . my 2c

I read the first few posts and didn't return to this for a few days. This is a slam-dunk best site for me and Her Majesty the 26th. There is some serious intellegence and experience here, great group of members, and ya'll make me laugh with many off-topic posts. It's like going down to the Z shop and drinking a beer at the end of the day. Sometimes the conversations are good and sometimes I'm not interested. "Billramsey", I always thunk U do tht on porpuss.

As for the South, I can report that most of the tourists are expected to leave today - spring break is over - and the roads and beaches will be ours again. The weather is drop dead gorgeous, and I am looking forward to a little privacy on the beach!

You guys settle down!:finger:

But to answer the original question... No this site is not in decline.

As some of you may by now suspect I have spent the last year and a half trying to resurect a derelict '71 Z car that I bought on a whim. I can tell you that without question there are at least 4 instances where the ONLY accurate source of information I could find was the forums of this site.

And there is at least one time that I REALLY wish I had come here FIRST, rather than trusting "that" manual...

As for those who abuse the privlege of interacting in civil discourse with people from every part of the globe... perhaps the rest of us could learn to "...suffer fools gladly." and just ignore them. Without encouragement they may go away.

Hey Carl, are you interested in writing some rules for us ? I need some help in this area if you are interested. Let's see what you've got.

If you are interested, please send me a PM and I'll let you know what we need done. This document you write will be made available for the other members to critique. Please submit anything to me before it's put in the forums.

I think i'm going to puke, remove my membership immediately,of all the people on this site bambikiller is chosen to prepare some sort of communist manifesto for all members to follow. He's long winded, full of himself, and a know it all, 3 strikes and I'm out of here,oh and you guys have fun flaming me now because I won't be reading any of it ahahahahahaha

I hate to lose a 14 post member with such a fitting, (though probably not anatonomicly correct) real Name.(see his Member profile). I am sure we will miss your valuable Z content.

I honestly hope you find a club you are as happy being a member of as we are with Carls' membership and admin here.

Will
