Anyone have an orange 280?

For what its worth about two years ago I saw a rusted out 280-Z sitting in a yard overgrown with weeds while I was out riding my bike. It was very oxidized orange, and appeared to be the original color. It looked to be a 75 or 76 by the bumpers. I recall at the time thinking I had never seen a 280 that was orange. Im guessing it was the original color by its condition.

Michael,

Check my gallery under "daddz" and you will find pics of my orange '78 280Z that was paint code "110" with a production date of 10/77 with a chassis numbered HLS30431775.

Here's a pic:

When I bought the car in 1995 it looked pretty good. The touch up paint that came with the car was matched using 1980 Ford Mustang orange.

Well so far I've seen a couple of '78's, a '74, and now a '76, so most likely 110 was used throughout production after '70. Thanks for the additional info. Now I'm wondering, was this Z a 110 or 918? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2472321990 It sure looks 918 orange to me but it could be 110 for all I know. So far I don't have any evidence that 918 was used after '73 so that's another one to look out for.

my 72 is red 110 but it isn't red or faded....it was repainted in like '95 (look at my gallery)....sometimes in the dim light it can sorta look red, but, when I bought it, the guy said it was 'datsun red' and that was a bummer, cause I really didn't want a red car...but then i went to look at it, and it was orange....

i've seen original orange 280z's....it just kinda throws you off on that one on ebay, cause it has 240z slot mags on it....

the guy with the '78 orange z the perlaxamous (sp) guy doesn't have a 110 code car however....that is not the same as my car....so there might've been 2 different 280z orange style cars.

That's 110 red. I've got a 1971 240Z 918 orange. It doesn't change colors in the light. You know the color/car when you see it.

110 red can look both red&orange depending on the light.

I'm only able to take pictures using flash.
