April 10, 200421 yr comment_76327 I would jack up the rear end and support it. Then in netural make sure that the rear tires can be easily spun in the forward direction, it may be just that your rear brakes need adjusting. April 10, 200421 yr comment_76353 Check for free play with the wheels up in the air. Then from there check to see if your rear brakes need adjusted or freed if the car has been sitting for a while. Then move on to the differential and so on. April 10, 200421 yr comment_76403 Easier if you can take the wheel and drum off. If so at the bottom of the brake assembly you will see a notched wheel. That is your adjuster. You want to adjust it to where your drum slightly drags against the brakes. Simply turn it either in or out, out tighter, in loose on the adjustment. It should spin but not freely as in if you spin it it wouldnt stop.Id say adjust it to if your wheel is on that it will spin about 6 or more revolutions and stop.
